Form an IGN interview busy game:
"We are able to get over 10,000 active objects with physics and collisions and over 75,000 particles simulated and drawn @60fps. That said, we were unable to use all the available processing power from Cell for this game"
IMO most impressive game available on either the Playstation Network or XBox Live!
I'm about to go visit a friend's house and play it, from the sounds it should be good, but I'm also a Continuum/Subspace player, so it may be tough for an arcade space shooter to take the #1 spot for me.

No, it didn't take the #1 spot, but truthfully, it is fun. For the record, single player is much easier than multiplayer unless both of you think exactly the same. Although, since you can't occupy the same space, it's unfortunate.
Possible Improvements: Make the weapons a bit more relevant (Personal choice, but there seems to be almost no reason to swap till a weapon is 200%, and then keep using that one). Split screen multiplayer, rather than forced on a single screen. Definately caused a lot of deaths to my friend and vice versa. Alternate controls, having played for years with a D-pad, no issues with firing (though it seemed to be 16 directions, not 360 degrees) the second joystiq seemed limited in turning.

Agreed, this game is an absolute blast. Well-priced as well. I love space shooter games that really push you to your limits and get your adrenaline pumping. Now it is no Ikaruga or anything, but this game is great nonetheless.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
this game is well priced and a blast to play.. i would have bought it for 15 dollars.. maybe 20

So anyone making good progress in this game?
Finally got more time to play with it and am starting to get the hang of the game. Haven't played one of these games and liked it this much in a while.
Anyone gotten a really high rank on the leaderboards? I think I finally made somewhere in the 2500s.
One thing that I haven't liked in the game (possibly the only thing) are the bosses, they've been kind of underwhelming after the massive chaos and extremely numerous enemies during normal play.

The guy who I visited was #7 worldwide at one point, of course he dl'ed and played the game the second it came out. He's like 600 right now or so.
I actually liked the bosses, nice Arcade throwbacks and rather than pussing out and fleeing, just doing some manuvering through the bullet stream. Though that may be why I called for a different control scheme.

The game seems to have gotten a great reception:

IMO best online distributed console game so far. Warhawk, LittleBigPlanet and Home may well be able to beat it though.
Thank you for recommending Ckmlb, downloaded last night and passed out as it installed :(
But I'll be playing it as soon as I get home =)
