if it is selling at a loss then obviously it is the best value for money

Depends what you are buying for haha. If you are looking purely for a gaming machine the best value would probably be the 360 followed up by the Wii. Not paying for anything extra with those and what ya get with it are purely for gaming. Good for me considering I already have a very capable blu-ray player in my laptop which makes that function of the PS3 obsolete in my buying decisions.

Now if you are looking for the best bang for you buck on the most well rounded machine then I would say the PS3 definitely. High end hardware, blu-ray player, ect ect. Followed by the 360 and Wii.

It just depends what you are looking to get. But considering most of us here are gamers you best choices for gaming features and of course games is Wii and 360. If extra stuff is necessity then get the PS3.

And note I'm not banging on the PS3 I'm just going for what has most games, most feature attributed to games, and the price allocated to get the best deal imo.

60 GB PS3. Bought it for $500 after the pricedrop when the 80 GB was going to be introduced.

Plays almost every PS1 and PS2 game. Can't say too much about the XBox360's backwards compatibility (missing some really key games IMO). And VC is pretty nice, but again, is missing a TON of games. As someone who only owned a GC last gen, this backwards compatibility is extremely appreciated. I've had the opportunity to play some really great gems like Shadow of the Colossus.

Plays Bluray movies. I don't know about you guys, but on my 1080p LCD TV, the quality of Bluray is very much appreciated.

Has wifi included. Seriously Microsoft, is it that fucking big a deal to include a wifi adapter? The DS includes one for gods sake.

Can use almost any bluetooth headset. Sorry Microsoft, there's no way I'm paying for your official $60 wireless headset. And well, does the Wii even have voice chat?

Can use almost any 2.5". Thanks for the nice deals on the HDDs you give us Microsoft. I love it when you rape me up the ass. And Nintendo's storage solution was pathetic. 512 MB flash memory? Seriously?

Free online play. Not as good as XBox Live, not as shitty as Wii's online thing (whatever it's called). But it's free, and does what I want (after 2.4 firmware) so I can't complain.

I only look at the game library and price when I buy a console. I don't care about the extra features, so for me, the value goes like this:

1. Wii (cheap+full backward compability+awesome games)
2. 360 (fairly cheap+awesome games)
3. PS3 (too pricey+where are the games?)

value is sibjective, it depends what you want from a system and how much your willing to pay for it, also i live in the UK so i pay 17.5% value added tax on games and consoles, id say im happy with all 3 consoles in terms of return on my money, i have more of an objection to the 17.5% than the money i pay for the consoles

You buy a PS3 for retail, it goes down in value.

You buy a 360 for retail, it goes down in value.

You buy a Wii for retail, you make money on Ebay.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

Wii
360
PS3

Eventually 360 and PS3 may change places, but unlikely...
