Why do record companies still make CD versions of their band's album?

I don't think anyone is defending that retail games disappear; some people would just like to have the option of downloads, as is already the case on PC gaming.

Hmmm, I had not heard of this till now. Sounds fairly cool. I'll install the game I am primarily playing, and uninstall it once done. That'd be nice to have shorter load times. But really, it wont be that big a deal. Not sure why you'd even ask this question, unless you are trying to slam the PS3 for any reason you can find.

Imagine if all of your games, saves, etc. were all saved to the console. If a grizzly bear smashed your console, you'd be S.O.L.. Now, with discs, that same bear (or a panda bear, if you're in Japan) could destroy your console......but you'd still have the games!

*bears also screw with your account, so re-downloading is not an option. it's in the fine print whenever you update your PS3. You really should read it sometime.

damn bears.
