Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will SE support the Wii?

So after the DKSigma event, and now the announced line up for this year's TGS, I'm more than positive that they will not support the Wii. Even FFCC:CB isn't even going to appear, after more than 3 years in development. Not even Soul Eater will be there.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

They will, in few years.

if any company does not want to support the wii or any console for that matter, that is their decision, no matter how stupid it may seem to anyone.

i really don't care much about squareenix games except for main FF games, square are the biggest makers of JRPG but they are not the only JRPG makers in Japan, others will fill their place.

I don't care really it would be nice if they support the Wii (with something better then that Dragon Quest Spin off Game) but if not then there are loads RPG's coming and it will keep me busy.

I mean we have no info whatsoever on FFCC:CB I'm sure the game is vaporware.
They have nothing but Soul Eater, that will probably only get released in Japan due to no one knowing about the existance of that Anime here.

They support the PSP and DS A LOT, more than 80% of their games are for portable machines.

Anyone thinks they are in bad relations with Nintendo? Or do they really see no future in the Wii??

Here goes the famous lists!

DS:

Egg Monster Hero
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
Children of Mana
Mario Hoops 3 on 3
FFIII
FF Fables: Chocobo Tales
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Heroes of Mana

Itadaki Street DS
The World Ends With You
FFCC: Rings of Fate
FF Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Yosumin DS
DQIV
FFIV
Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness
Arkanoid DS
Nanashi no Game
DQV
Sigma Harmonics
Chronno Trigger
KH 358/2 Days
Valkyre Profile DS
DQVI
Chocobo's Dungeon DS
Chocobo's Tales 2
DQIX
Space Invaders Extreme
Snoopy
Bunch of other mini game collections or no-games

PSP:

Valkyre Profile: Lenneth
DQ and FF in Itadaki Street Portable
FF
FFII
FF Tactics: The Lion Wars
CC: FFVII
SO: First Departure
SO: Second Evolution
Dissidia FF
KH: Birth by Sleep
Space Invaders Extreme
Parasite Eve III
FFXIII Agito

X360:

Project Sylpheed
Infinite Undiscovery
The Last Remnant
Star Ocean 4
FFXIII
FFXI (MMO)
Rapture (MMO)

PS3:

The Last Remnant
FFXIII
FFvsXIII
FFVII ACC
Rapture (MMO)

Wii:

Chocobo's Dungeon
DQ Swords: TMQatToM
Soul Eater (Japan Only)
FFCC:CB (vaporware most likely)
FFCC:MLaaK (Wiiware)

And look at the Wii games, are spin offs or low quality games. The only one actually promising was FFCC:CB before it turned into vaporware....

COME ON SE SHOW WII SOME LOVE.

Discuss and bash me for whining.

Relax dude.

I would say Nintendo is partly to blame, sins of the father for the Wii. N64's fault for burning 3rd parties with it's outdated tech, ditto Gamecube with that mini-disc thing (what has it, a 2.4gb capacity?).

Wii's finally got some decent tech under the hood and no one wants to touch it. Quite sad actually, seeing as how certain S-E games that have never been graphical powerhouses (KH, DQ, Anything Tri-ace) would have thrived on the Wii.

But personaly, I don't want to see KH3 on the Wii, but it does deserve some love from S-E, I think it's about time that Nintendo did what Sony and MS have done, bring out the wallet (Those who say MS are the only money-hatters are fooling themselves and no one else).

i think Square Enix is doing great with the Wii!!

the Dragon Quest game is great and it sold very well!!

Chocobo's dungeon game is good as well!!

FF Crystal Bearers seems awesome, also the WiiWare FF game is a good sign!!

You're really worrying too much about this.

It's SE. They're all about the money. They will support the Wii, and their first "big" titles will probably be KH3 and DQX.

That's only speculation. DS may even get those games.

The ds will probably be replaced by then. DQX is definately not coming until the end of this generation at the earliest, and KH3 most likely won't go to the ds or psp, because they have spinoffs.

Well, you never know.  Rather than getting spin-offs of Dragon Quest, at least three games from the classic series are being rebuilt for the DS, and the next title in the "main line," Dragon Quest IX, is a DS exclusive.

Yes, they are absolutely all about the money.  Why else would they re-release so many games and release so man low quality spin-offs?  And Square's history with low quality games goes way, way back when they released a huge steaming pile of shitty games for the Super NES.  Almost everything outside of the main Final Fantasy series and the Secret of Mana/Evermore games was awful and many of them were shameless cash-ins on the Final Fantasy name.
