To be fair, it's selling like hotcakes compared to last year. It's selling almost double on a regular basis vs. last year.

Europe (Feb-Jul):
2007: 785,260
2008: 1,827,000

Quite the difference, no?

Fair enough Mr stickball but it aint wiping the floor of the 360.

The only one that is doing that to both hd consoles is the wii.

And where in the OP did anyone from Microsoft say that the Xbox 360 was wiping the floor with anyone, or anything? They merely said it was flying off the shelves. And compared to last year, again, there is certainly justification for that. Likewise, Sony or Nintendo could say the same thing. But nevertheless, the numbers show that the X360 is enjoying a great upswing in sales thanks to the aggressive price drop.

And in the exact article, they don't mention the PS3 more than twice - once about Mattrick claiming the X360 would outsell the PS3 this generation (possible), and then about their video store. The fanboys are blowing this way out of proportion, and no one is using sales numbers.

More than doubled, not bad at all. Due to price drop mostly or was there some games that were really popular in Europe and exclusive to 360 that I missed?

Were you directing your response towards me as some sarcastic comeback? FYI The Ps3 is wiping the floor with the Xbox360 in Europe.

Wiping the floor I think not.

Considering it has already outsold the 360 in total European sales despite launching over 15 months later I would say, yes, it is.

ms have stated it has,nt.

Sales show it has.

What sales?

Are ms liars.

MS obviously skews the truth to suit their best interests. Why on earth would they admit being outsold? Though I don't recall MS ever outright denying that the PS3 has outsold the 360.

The vast, if not entire, majority is the fact that the price drop has allowed the X360 to reach some sort of quasi-critical mass. European gamers (and I'm going to assume US too) aren't going to pay the kinds of money that MS/Sony are demanding for their systems. And both systems have been rewarded for dropping their prices.

Deep price cut + good games = 100%+ YOY increase. Would love to see that 100% YOY increase travel to the US this year too :)

whate sales? we only know official statement from Sony and Ms up to the 30th of June: 5,89M gap....considering that in Japan PS3 is probably 2M ahead of x360 we have almost 8M to divide between NA and Others: you do the math.

2008 year end sales (made in January 2008):

44.2 M 27.1 M 20.8 M

Spectrumglr,

we know the sales : VGChartz.

Their price drop was a complete failure.

PS3 at 300$ would be at 100k/weekly, not at 60k ...

Even more, since PAL = europe + others
if u take away others
then Xbox360 weekly sales are really low ...

Time to Work !

Xbox sales are not low actually they are rising even in Japan,
