If you're a racing fanatic, you'll do fine with a 360. In addition to Forza, SimBin, whom make great racing sims for the PC are trying their hands at making a 360 exclusive sim called Race Pro.

I know a lot of gamers prefer Forza 2 over Project Gotham 4, but I prefer the Project Gotham series. You should rent both of them and see which you prefer.
Forza 2 is an awesome racing sim. It's by far the most realistic racing game ever released on a console (in terms of physics simulation). It's really fun and has great replay value.

Is it ever realistic. The physics run at 360 fps.

It'll take some time for him to get used to it tho, no boat physics for the cars =D
Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).
No Forza 2 is not rushed it just came out last year. a year before 5P and 2 years before full GT5. F3 will be around GT5 level graphics. But F2 is one hardcore racing sim. It is sublimely good.
