The problem with Itagaki's statements is that he never does anythign to disprove Kamiya, and that's because Kamiya is right. DMC was the last big, worthwhile advancement in that arena. What have we gotten since then that has changed action games? Even that crap in GoW etc. where you press a single button every few seconds to keep an action sequence going was created in Shenmue uh, 8-9 years ago.

Really, I think Itagaki's been drunk the last 8 years.

while I really enjoyed the demo of Ninja Gaiden Sigma (which Itagaki didn't produce, but well it should be very very close to NGB though) I don't think it's an experience on the level of Ôkami

I disagree with Kamiya... but only because I don't get what made the first Devil May Cry game so revolutionary? I think action games have been in a standstill before then.

Seriously people, Itagaki depises the Tekken series, or atleast that is what he claims(I read on wikipedia that he was angry with Namco, forgot the reason)

Dante had the ability to switch fighting styles, wasn't that considered revolutionary?

i think itakagi is a great producer

Itagaki can trash talk Kamiya about DMC as much as he likes cause both franchises have had their highs and lows.
But i really think he shouldnt have brought Okami into it, cause its at a level a bit above the hack n slash genre.
