the developer said if they watend the game to look on par with the PS3 version, they would have to put it on 3 DVDs but adding the third dvd is not feasiable as it increase the royalty fees too much.

 

the game will be shipping on a single bluray,,,,,the PC version and Mac version will also ship on both DVD and blu-ray.

According to Carmack, the royalty fees to include a third disc in the Xbox 360 version would be so high that it simply isn't a feasible solution, with the programmer hoping for Microsoft to make a concession. He stressed that the issue is merely a storage problem and has nothing to do with the power of the Xbox 360 hardware.

now this is interesting, more disks = devs/publisher ? have to pay more royalties. WTF

I think royalty fees for RPG genre is lower ,so they can afford to go onto mltiple disks,,it's kind of a factor to limit developers to a number of disks  depending on the genre.they don't want developers to make a 4 disk shooter,,,but a 4 disk RPG is fine.
