Forums - Microsoft - What I believe MS should do for Holiday Bundle

OK leave the Arcade SKU alone.

For the Holiday Bundle I think they take the 60GB Pro and change it to the

Xbox 360 Party Pak

Then add to it the new SceneIt and Lips games.

They key word is "Party"  think about how that name draws in casuals.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Real Racing Bundle of RacePro and Forza 2
Arcade Racing Bundle of PGR4 and GRID

I disagree. They should bundle in Grand Theft Auto IV and 12-Months of Xbox Live as a way to attract those wary about paying for online. Or they could bundle a Netflix account for 12 months and 12 months of Live, which would be a nice cross promotion. Or they could bundle Call of Duty 5 and 12 months of live if they can get Activision's A-ok. In any case, the best deal would be to sell Live with the console for at least 3 months minimum, to a maximum of 12 months on the Pro and Elite SKUs.

That's some good ideas. I'd be happy to see any of those.

The other one's I wouldn't mind seeing is Microsoft trying to develop a following for some of their first party games. For example you could bundle Banjo in an attempt give Rare a greater following on the console. Or you could bundle Lost Oddysey, as an attempt to broaden your role-playing userbase. I think overall targeted bundling is a good idea, similar to what they did with Forza last year (the 3rd game will likely sell far more than Forza 2 could've done without the bundle).

Debating with fanboys, its not
all that dissimilar to banging ones
head against a wall

Actually that probably would sell hardware. its annoying because microsoft is taking the cheap and easy way out like ninty did, instead of actually having the balls to do it the hardcore way.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Last year their bundle was Forza 2 and Ultimate Alliance. I don't believe they will bundle AAA titles. I'm guessing something along the lines of PGR4 and Viva Pinata.

The thought is to make it more attractive to the casual family audience. MS already has a following in the hardcore audience so a new holiday package devoted to the casual could boost sales to that audience.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

2 Holiday Bundles of:
XBOX 360 Arcade with Lips and Scene It! Including 2 Microphones and 4 Scene It Controllers.
XBOX 360 Premium with Gears of War 2 and Fable II + 3 months XBOX Live Gold and Netflix.

I would go for the 2nd one, but sadly I don't see Microsoft doing this...

I also think that the console packaging should change for the Arcade, make it look cleaner and fit in with the New XBOX Experience.

Consoles Owned: XBOX 360, Wii, DS and PSP.

There's no way they will bundle an R-rated game with the console. Not if they want to push it to soccer moms.
