Forums - Gaming - Should I buy a PSP or a DS tommorrow?

Get a DS if you want a gaming device.

If you want something with more features, go with the PSP.

lol at the DS is for kids comments.

the psp is over rated, get a DS
the ds has more variety of games, as opposed to the psp

either, i have both and love both. i also have a ps3 and the remote play feature is great. but i believe your final decision should be made on what each handheld offers as far as games and what kind of games you like. i like what the psp offers as far as games but i am a big fan of mario games even though i do not have a wii

get a psp it is the whole experience and ds is for kids

Question: do you expect anyone to ever take you seriously with comments like this?

yes i do because nintendo has said its target gamers age was 8 years old for many of there franchises

Would you be so kind as to produce this quote in context?

And, after you've done that: are we supposed to ignore the hundreds of other, non-Nintendo, DS games?

the other games like Poniez 2, my dogz 2, bratz and movie games? Honestly I can't think of more then 3 or 4 adult oriented games on the DS (brain age and related games are more or less it)

Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 should be (has a very simplistic story unlike the classic original), Trauma Center Under the Knife, uh... uh... Brothers in Arms DS? That last one got crap reviews though.

A agree, PSP has better games. DS certainly has more though, and has something for everyone.

According to Meta Critic, DS has 98 75 or above rated games, while PSP has 113. Quantity over quality. DS is kinda kiddy, but IMO its worth having becuase the 1st party is great. Too bad it has all but dried up. Also, old first party games are roughly $25 on amazon so you won't save much. Alot of PSP games are really cheap though.

To OP- since you are in the navy I think you would like PSP better. It has more violent games which I am assuming you like (I persoanlly don't like em, but I love platforemrs and quiky games and SRPGS, which PSP has alot of. Honestly PSP has great games for everyone except casuals, but thats where the money is nowadays)

If you get a PSP, get a screen protector. The screen scrathes easily. Get the Red or Silver PSP. Black shows smudges.

I don't even know how to respond to this...

Actually, I am not going to the Navy, this is part of my training in becoming an USMC officer (look at the avatar). The only reason I am on this damn ship is because I had to get my M16/M9 and 50Cal Machine gun qualifications. I was supposed to go to Mountain Warfare School, but it did not work out for me. Lol about the comment thats in bold, but just because I am serving does not mean that I like violent games...lol but I was wondering if any of them had online functionality?

Yeah a good amount of DS games have online.

Former something....

both have online

There are far more games on the DS with online play. A lot more than PSP ones.

And the DS include voice chat in some games, thanks to the built in mic.

DS there are so many good games.

I have a few more questions, which one is cheaper? does the psp have mic support? Which online community is better? does the DS have any none casual online games(because I dont play them)?
