what sort of weapon am i shooting myself with? i will need to know if i will be losing my entire foot or if im just going to be in a lot of pain for a while.

Depends on the gun.

Rocket Launcher - Yea.. no.
Paintball Gun - Oh hell yes.

Of course it being Nintendo they would probably just make several billion dollars by selling the gun as a toy so the question is moot.
