Speaking of PT Anderson, I finally found a copy of Hard Eight and watched it.

Sigh... I heart PT Anderson.

That shit is the definition of obscure.

I think you're confusing "obscure" with "shit".

Okay, I thank you all for the recommendations. With that said, I'm NOT a big fan of Japanese movies. I think most of them are shit. Kurosawa had his schtick but much past that and I think it's complete rubbish.

I like dialogue, not mindless action and overtly complex bullshit themes.

With that said, I welcome more contributions.

I just remembered Round Midnight, based loosely on the lives of Bud Powell and Lester Young, starring real-life jazz icon Dexter Gordon.  Also, the Clint Eastwood directed Bird, a Charlie Parker biopic.

One of my favorite movies is Buffalo '66, written and directed by and starring Vincent Gallo.

The Devil's Backbone is also a great show (Guillermo Del Toro).

Hates Nomura.
