Forums - Gaming - gta4 is one of most dissapointing games ever!

Learn how to drive.  Its sad that people hate games because they cant master them in one sit down, you're dumbing games down for the rest of us.

All games from big franchises are overly hyped and get astromical reviews despite serious flaws: GTA, MGS, FF, Zelda, Mario, Smash, etc. Video game reviewers are either the worst fanboys in the world or they're obliged to review the big games that way.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I didn't liked it either...At first I did but after a couple of days I was just forcing myself through the story. I started the game again from the beginning last week but still it is not fun for me;..Oh well maybe because I am a SR fanboy =/.

Learn to drive and play for more than 3 hours. Driving is not that hard.

LOLL the steering in that game is just awful, and im a good driver

I agree that it really sucks at first. But after you've tried driving for maybe 5-10 hours, you'll get used to it and you may even find it to be improved over the old system.

I'm sorry but any game where you have to play for 5-10 hours before you get used the controls, has pretty shitty control.

I recently just got it myself and I'm in the think of the story now and genuinely like it.  It has its problems and is slow to get into because most of the early missions (like the first 5-10hrs) are basically tutorials.

My feelings with the game are much in line with Zero Punctuation's review (which i suggest rewatching after playing the game).  Yes its too grey, yes they took out a lot of its quirkiness in favor of "gritty realism," and yes the control scheme makes the learning curve as steep as Everest, but still, the game just has soo much to do and see that it really does make up for it.  I'm planning on making some Machinima using Liberty City as my backdrop soon...

Just at least play until a little past the second safehouse--the one in Brooklyn  Bohan--and try out a couple of missions with Playboy X.   If you aren't satisfied after the Construction site mission (which i think is the first official one from Playboy X), then i guess the new style just isnt for you.

Its dissapointing because they went backwards in gameplay and not foward. They removed some of the funnest things.

Well I was trying to adjust to his learning curve. I learned to drive well after the first couple missions, but everyone is different. And for that matter, it took me several hours to master some of the controls in Super Mario Galaxy. Does that mean they suck?

No it means you suck! (JOKING! Sorry too easy...) What controls exactly?

Edit : If you're talking about Spring Mario, I totally agree that those controls suck!

Hmm... depends on how you qualify s***y controls.  Yes GTA's are not great, but once you get used to them they *mostly*  do what you want.  It could've used a simpler control scheme maybe, but still i'd rather have unintuitive & complex control's that mostly work (GTA, Mass Effect), than intuitive and simpler controls that don't (Lair, Red Steel).
