“Star Trek Online is being developed ‘for both PC and console formats’. No word on which consoles, although we’d say Xbox 360 is more than likely since Cryptic’s other project, superhero MMO Champions Online, is coming to Microsoft’s machine.”
“Cryptic Studios will reveal the first gameplay footage from Star Trek Online on Sunday, August 10, 2008, at the Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas,” says the company on its web page.
Players will take the role of a starship captain for either the Federation or Klingons, and take part in both deep-space shipboard gameplay and exploration of planet surfaces, and other ships, on foot. You'll be able to outfit and customise your ship before engaging in space battles, and recruit and train a crew.
Will this be another Console exclusive for the 360? Or will Cryptic decide to target the PS3 this time..
We'll just have to wait till Aug 10th and see!
