Its funny - The Xbox360 has averaged 6 games with a metacritic of 90+ per year since its release. If it continues and as this year has a lot of great games coming as well, it surely could. After GTAIV we would expect to see at least another 5 games whether exclusive or multiplat hit that magical 90+% point. Another 4 exclusives hitting that mark isn't actually that far fetched.

Tease.

Gears 2 - 92%
L4D - 91% (not exclusive)
Fable 2 - 87%
Banjo - 77%
Last Remnant - 84% (not exclusive)
Infinite Undiscovery - 78%
Tales of Vesperia - 81%
Too Human - 73%

There are 8 exclusives from Onyxmeths list that are still to come this year and heres the challenge - can you pick their metacritic score before they arrive?

These are my picks for the ratings for each game.

90%+ AAA games:

  1. Gears of War 2 (I would think 96% like the last game)
  2. Banjo Kazooie, looks like fun and critics reward innovative games ( 92% most likely for me)
  3. Left 4 Dead - So long as they treat it nicely with regards to graphics I would have to give it a good shot at 92% metacritic.
  4. Fable 2 - Looks pretty awesome, its ironic that this is really the first game of this type this generation aside from Oblivion. Should be reviewed - 93% as well based on feedback from E3.

85%+ AA Games:

  1. Last Remnant - Looks like the best JRPG to come this generation so far, it seems like quite a lot of fun. 87%

80%+ Great games

  1. Infinite Undiscovery - looks pretty good, it strikes me as quite a fun JRPG but doesn't show quite the same feel and polish as Last Remnant. 81%
  2. Too Human - Its going to be loved by some, hated by some but I think it should manage a respectable 80% showing.

70%+ Still good but falls to the lovers of the genre/series a lot.

  1. Tales of Vesperia, probably 78% like Lost Odyssey

So do you think you can do better than me? Lets predict how the 8 major exclusives left for the year perform huh? Lets keep score - if you're spot on get 5 points, if you're within 1% either way get 2 points and if you're within 2% either way get 1 point.

Entry closes August 9th - A week before the release of Too Human and Tales of Vesperia.

Interesting.

Game Score Notes
Gears of War 2 93.5% Similar score to GoW1
Left 4 Dead 92.0% Very very high score for Co-Op
Fable 89.9% Better reviewed than 1st one due to Multiplayer
Banjo-Kazooie 87.5% Points docked for focus on vehicles
Infinite Undiscovery 82.0% Decently high score. Will dock points for VA & Story
Tales of Vesperia 80.9% Great score for a Tales game.
The Last Remnant 78.9% Won't be as good as some think
Too Human 74.9% Hated by critics, but will do we in terms of user reviews

Fable 2 will also deliver on the hype unlike Fable 1.  Infinite Undiscovery might have a point or two docked down for VA but not so sure about the story since reviewers probably don't have very high standards for stories in JRPGs since 90% of them are cliched.  The Last Remnant could do atleast 85% if S-E puts enough polish in to it.  I am not expecting the scores for TpV to be that high though, maybe late 70s, early 80s

Fable 1 had too many load screens, and the extra features you could perform weren't explained (never got married...)

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Ok this thread is about to pay off, interesting that many people predicted Too Human far better than I did.

When the number of reviews hits about 40 for Too Human we can do our first scoring.

Edit: The thread is now open for the next intake for anyone wanting to predict the remain exclusives aside from Too Human, which is already getting reviews.

Tease.

I think I am sitting pretty good with 71% for Too Human.

Its interesting that a lot of people were right in how Too Human was going to turn out. I was unfortunately not one of them. :(

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps

We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
