Forums - General - US winning in Iraq

Doesn't anybody read THE FREAKING ARTICLES anymore. I am sick and tired of the portrayal of this war being underwrited in a liberalistic partisan light for the ratings of the damn media. Yes, Bush was premature in his "Mission Accomplished" sign and stating that major combat operations in Iraq have ended but he did not realize that the insurgency would arise to dramatic levels after the Iraqi's welcomed American's claiming "Allah bless George Bush and his family." --Yes they did say that, Kurds especially. So before you teenage pansies on the Net rambling on about something you really don't understand I suggest you look at the progress beyond the liberal TV and do independent research. BTW the US was filled with turmoil during the Articles of the Confederation years before becoming the world's most successful hyperpower. (Whiskey Rebellion, etc.)  The US IS WINNING in Iraq and there can always be swift and unprecedented turnarounds in military operations.  God bless our troops and As sala'amu aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barkatuh to the people of Iraq.

I think you mean 100's of thousands or Iraqi's and thousands of british and american troops.

Hundreds? Over 4,000 American soldiers alone. Not to mention civilians, contractors, journalists, hostages, everybody just blowing up. Total's estimated between 151,000 and a clean million.

It's an unwinnable war, since we're fighting an invisible idea that exists worldwide.

Things are going better due to the plan of the surge and an improvement in tactics under General Petraeus. Before we use to sit around, wait on an attack and respond, now there are cleanup missions that are taking the enemy strongholds on.(and that wasn't the troops fault, those were the rules of engagment).

Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't because of the current administration, the idea of a troop surge was fought at the beginning because Bush and all his advisors didn't know how to handle an insurgency. The only republican really fighting for the surge since the beginning was John McCain and now he is reaping the rewards of that due to his candidacy.

@vagabond, do you know what we did to the Nazi insurgent group the werewolves:

General Eisenhower in April 1945 ordered that all partisans were to be shot

the UN said no, so the war is illegal (edit) also, your contempt for the lives of the soldiers is appaling

Over 5,000 Kurds died on one day in Halabja.

If that is not terrorism I do not know what is.  PS: mustard gas is a WMD, too.  The war on terrorism will be fought on ALL fronts and not just one.

are you actually stupid enough to think that all iraqis are terrorists?
