Why would they waste money like that?

Blu-ray would not be good for 360... HD DVD wasn't really good for 360 either... The movie distributors thought they could make a new type of player, and then add a few extras to the movies and charge more money for the movies. It was plain wrong and consumers have shown their dissatisfaction by not really grabbing onto blu-ray or HD DVD when it was there.

Microsoft is better off spending their time on movie downloads and streams to the console. I have been downloading movies lately and am really questioning the viability of physical media going forward. I have over 900 physical media DVD movies, 50+ HD DVD, and 50+ blu-ray. I haven't bought anything new in over three months now.

I know there are people on slow connections and it won't work for them. But, people like myself, have no reason to collect the media anymore.
