Whoa ur a former PC gamer and ur going to console FPS games wtf dude :O Well that is coming from me. If fps games for the console supported mouse and keyboard I might hop on but I think maybe 1 or 2 games might support that. Also I would like to say CoD4 is way better then Halo 3 for multiplayer even if its for console :D

That statement very debatable and in most cases plain wrong... COD4 is a refined version of rainbow 6/coutnerstrike and is great as well but halo 3 destroys COD4 online. The Vehicle, the Carnige, powerups, the STICKY GRENADES!!!!!... none which are found in COD4...make a huge differnce.

Hahahah :D. Halo sucks ass compared to cod4 :D

Hey tallgnome guess what my xbox can do that your pc can't? It's called 4 player split screen. Whenever my friends come over they can just hop right on with me and we can all play Halo 3 online together on the same console. Have fun dragging your bulky pc's over to your friends houses for lans :P

Rofl I like how you say 4 player split screen online o wait I just use ventrilo and me and my friends can talk and play online together oh and a side note what is this free online gaming service :O and works with steam oh god. My laptop works for lans so its meh put in bag and go its kinda like bringing a xbox controller over but a little heavier. Also owning a Wii always helps when all the friends come over :D

So you have a laptop good enough to play current gen games? So how much that cost $1000 or was it around $2000? Don't worry I'm fine with paying 5 dollars a month, I have alot of money left over from not having to continually upgrade every part of my computer just to keep up with the times ;)

Actually 800 dollar laptop i got for college and it still works fine after 2 years :D and also you can now build a desktop for 500 dollars that can easily play crysis and an extra 150 dollars and it will have blu ray :O. I am going to be honest about gaming on PC no other developer is going to push grahpic boundaries like Crytek will so really at this point in time there is no need to upgrade past a point for awhile. Especially how cheap hardware is going for compared to performance is amazing right now. But I do love your arguement about how you started it with 4 player split screen to costs :O So negative about PC gaming. Seriously go read the other threads about costs of computers nowadays. Before you bring that over here. Besides somehow I am getting all the games for pc from friends for free :O so cost benefits of that overcomes most :D. Besides anything from valve and other developers I highly support I will purchase.

So you have a 2 year old laptop that can play crysis? wow you must have gotten an amazing deal then. Also if you truelly believe that no game is going to push the graphics boundary pass crysis for a while then you haven't been paying attention to how quickly games that continually push hardware limits to their max are pumped out. At the absolute most you'll be good for a year before you have to upgrade.

I'm not saying pc gaming isn't good, heck I can't wait for spore to come out. But your just lying to yourself if you think pc gaming is cheaper, more user friendly and socialy viable than a console.

Again when my friends come over we don't all huddle around the little pc monitor taking turns we hang out in the living room having a blast blowing each other up not worrying about lan setup, comp specs, viruses and a million other things. That is why console gaming is so popular now.

The definitive evidence that video games turn people into mass murderers

Sorry for the double post but i need to add one more thing. You've had your laptop for 2 years and you spent $800. I've had my 360 for almost 2 years. I bought a pro model for $300 adding two years of live that makes it $400. I already saved $400. Also don't tell me how you got free games from your friends were talking about base line prices right now not free give aways. If you want to take that road then hey I got Gears of War for free since my cousins an engineer on the development team!

Well who the hell lans Crysis? I use my laptop to play CoD4, TF2 the essientials at any lan parities of course low-med setting on those games still plays CSS great though :D. So your saying with hardware at this point in time you will need a new system in a year or atleast upgrade? I could understand if you want the best in performance but to play the game its not totally necessary I'm no graphics whore. If you built a system now for lets say 800 dollars it will easily play anything now and can last years and of course run probably at medium settings at this time in a few years. In a few years down the road running at medium settings is still going to be pretty decent graphics. If anything I am only speaking of one graphics card in the system(the ATI 4850 $199). Nvidia shat on themselves lately.

It is cheaper for me cause I get most of my games for free from friends. PC gaming being cheaper can easily be argued depending on a lot of factors. At the cost benefits for how much I "pay for games" it is easily cheaper for me cause it will pay itself out. So no more about argueing costs cause I don't like to bring up the subject of paying for games if you know what I mean on this website ;).

Only real games that are coming out that I can think are going to be pushing hardware is Fallout 3 and Farcry 2. I noticed Blizzard is taking it the larger crowd. Unless they decide to beef up D3 graphics.

Hmmm social viable you need be more clear on that one like did you mean like people coming over to hang out or online social?

User friendly depends how well people know computers. Though yea console will be more user friendly to most people will get if they have never been a pc gamer or don't know much about computers and yea that is why they get a console. I'll easily agree to that. Though arguing user friendly really depends on the person and which aspect of user friendly you mean. If you meant for gaming and the basics then I will argue against you but like you said about lan setup, comp specs, viruses etc I'll give you that one.

And dude crowd around one pc monitor and taking turns lol I have never seen that, but that would be pretty pathetic. If anything its rare I even lan much anymore I do enjoy a good lan but meh rather go party and get drunk. I also said earlier I have a wii for things like  especially my friends or girls that don't game can easily pick up and chill. Drunk wii ftw:D. Actually a lot of pc gamers I know actually do buy a wii for as a console and for people to come over and chill.

Sorry this is getting way off topic O.o between me and Mendicate Bias

PC gaming can be cheaper for a lot of people. Almost 4 years ago I spent 800 USD and buildt my own PC and it plays AOC at 30-40 FPS. Age of Conan has around the same (maybe higher?) demands from a PC as Crysis. I also get everything I need for work on the PC as well. Console is easier to use but the more user friendly line depends a lot on how much the user know about computers. Both have their merits. PC can do things consoles wish they can do but on the other hand, consoles are easier for ppl who don't have the know-how for PC gaming.

Halo 3 is a good solid game. It's not groundbreaking and the single player is kind of so-so. Even so, the multi-player is still a blast. I've actually never had the problem of loud mouthed kids. I think being in the recreation "zone" helps attribute to that. There's something about Halo 3 multi-player that's just right. I don't know what it is.

However, it sounds like you currently have a PS3 and returned a 360? So you're thinking of getting another 360 then? I wouldn't recommend a 360 just for Halo 3.

Regardless of what system you currently own, if you were a PC gamer and enjoyed Counterstrike, you should really try Call of Duty 4. A fantastic game. Even the single player, though short, was fantastic.

Does the "zone" you pick actually change something? :o  I assumed it didn't actually anything, but was just there to let other players know your style.

I wasn't gettin a 360 just for Halo3, but was comparing it to ps3's MGS4 to Halo3, since those two are kinda considered the "must-have" of each console. Single-player campaigns usually don't last too long for me so I was lookin for somethin that would have a long-lasting multiplayer experience. I actually haven't tried MGS4 online yet, since I'm getting through the story right now and it's great so far.

As for the controls, they've been nothing but a HUGE pain since I started back on console gaming. I had to rely fully on the auto-aiming while playing GTA4, which killed the fun abit. Most games require you to use the right stick to aim, which is really hard for me since I'd rather use the left. I actually haven't tried hooking up my keyboard to the ps3 yet, so I give that a shot in abit.

Thanks for all the replies. If I do decide on gettin a 360, I'm either getting Halo3......or Soul Calibur 4

Like I said tallgnome some people came into this thread claiming that pc gaming is greater than console gaming in every possible aspect. If you have a wii then of course you have the best of both worlds. PC has some absolutely amazing games coming out but it no longer is the one stop shop for any serious gamer. Recent trends in market development and sales trends prove this.

Sorry for taking the thread so off topic Parasitic

As far as I know gamer zone doesn't affect anything. Also if you prefer to aim with the left stick that options available in Halo 3.

MGS4 is an phenomenal game but if your looking for a game with a good multiplayer that will keep you entertained for a long time then I think Halo 3 is the way to go. Although admittedly I have not played MGO so I have no idea how good it is.
