Forums - Gaming - Why dopt you want a 3D castlevannia?

Ive never played any castlevania game but Id like any famous 2D game to jump into 3D eventually. Ive never once read a comment stating that they want a 3D one. Why not?
Id much rather play 3D than 2D now. Especially if a games been 2D for a long time.

Ive read all the comments about how bad the 64 version was..........

Oh and the fighting game for the Wii looks pretty cool to me.

Edit - Dammit I mean "DONT" know dopt

personally, they should quit the 3d and go back to 2d. castlevania:son ftw

Why though? Wouldnt you want them to make a good 3D game?

they already dead on the ps2 and the xbox...well not that good but ok game. and those games pale in comparison to the 2d games such as son and the one on the ds, cant remember the title though.

This.

I don't want a 3-d castlevania because the 3 rules of the Belmont

1: Always run right

2: kill everything

3: ALWAYS RUN RIGHT

a 3-d environment allows these rules to be broken! Why don't they just do like with Megaman 9?

id like a new Streets of Rage game in 3D

Mostly Hack n slash games get this but i think a brawler game can do nicely

After what everyone said, I'd rather suggest the possibility of a 2.5D Castlevania! Castlevania is the series that will never be perfected in 3D.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

The reason why Castlevania (Contra, Megaman, etc) is good is because the creator developed a gameplay mechanism first.

The idea of a character who could whip things works in 2D. In 3D it becomes very complicated.

Sometime the transition works. Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, etc.

There are two reasons why it worked for them.

1. They put care and money into the series, while the others are being milked.
2. They gained something from the transition.

The games back then were fun for a different reason, we liked ridiculous challenge and memorizing levels.

Gaming is more mainstream now, and the old schoolers don't have the time to commit to challenges like that; add onto that - that type of gaming doesn't really work in 3D.

Zelda, Mario, and Final Fantasy were have elements experimenting and exploration that hold the feeling of the series while transitioning.

For CV in particular 3D games have been tried several times, even when they put money and effort into it, it didn't work. It's just was not fun. Sorry.

If they gave it another shot, I would need a lot of convincing to buy it.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
