Forums - Gaming - Banjo Nuts and Bolts Looks Really Bad...

If people want precision jumps in their platformers, then they are playing the 2D classics, as 3D platformers in general don't compare. Ratchet, Banjo and Jak are a joke

Mario Galaxy (as just the most recent example) has scores of precision running and jumping.

I didn't mention Mario Galaxy, but it still pales in comparison in overall precise, unforgiving platforming to games like Mega Man, Super Mario Bros, Ninja Gaiden (NES), etc.

Like if I want a hardcore, strategic, challenging RPG, I'll go back and play Temple ofElemental Evil, Icewind Dale, or Digital Devil Saga, not the next FF which may have some tough battles but overall is not nearly as demanding or complex

That trailer just reinforced my belief...

It had a rather lame and weird beginning to the trailer and then they showed some random, stupid looking machines...

Seriously, I cannot see the 360 demographic digging the "kiddy" look of Banjo... They will all buy Gears and Fallout and COD5...

This game will flop. That does not mean it wont sell a million, but for a franchise this big, and for the amount of money they have put into this game.... anything less than 2 million is a flop. Kinda a similiar situation as Ninja Gaiden. Big Franchise. Big Budget. Less than 2 million = FLOP

Now if it does recieve steller reviews I might sell around... 2.5 million, and to me, if this game sells that much that will be SHOCKING.

Remember- The largest part of the 360's userbase is testosterone charged 13-20 boy/ young men. That demographic likes things that look cool.

This game would have decent sales potentional on the Wii do to the kid appeal, and females(for some reason I could see girls liking this.. must be Kazooie...) and the fact the Wii has a platformer fanbase (because of SMG)

Ratchet saw sales much worse than expected do to the demographic reasons I just stated. I think the one thing that saved it was the low competition on the PS3 last year. I could see Banjo selling like Ratchet, breaking a million after a while.

I am a married 23 year old.  I will be buying Banjo.  The look of Banjo is the same as it has always been, lame and wierd would apply to the old games as well if you think the trailer was such.

I seriously doubt NG2 had a budget large enough to require 2 million copies sold.

And a rather nice stereotypical statement about the 360.  Kinda like saying the Wii is mostly for 8-13 year olds, wives, and retired people.

umm...wrong sir i am 14 years old not 8- 13 haha, nor a wife...so very wrong indeed

i never did play any of the Banjo games due to my lack of owning an N64 but it seems interesting i can see where he's coming from saying he doesn't like the look of the game but its just his opinion i however think it looks Intersting

LOL.  Either you misunderstood my point, are helping me prove my point, or I really do not understand what you intend.

i know i was kidding but i thought it was funny/sad that you failed to include me into the general audience for the Wii....i'm important too...  but yes i was trying to help prove your point

The next Banjo game looks like Lair/ Vampire Rain quality game.

Starcraft will not be impressed. He has been a big supporter of the bear

Starcraft will wait for the game to be released to laugh in the faces of doubters.  In the meantime, he will simply be happy with the fact previews are getting more and more positive as reviewers accept the revolutionary steps involved with vehicle-based platforming instead of old-school Mario-style platforming.

Why do people complain when the developers do something to make the franchise fresh

Because the game is no longer on a Nintendo platform.

all Rare games on SNES ,N64 & xbox are great expect banjo to be great also.

Fixed

this is fair :)

You are the first person I know of who thinks that Grabbed by the Ghoulies is a great game.

Even Rare doesn't think that crap was good.

Did you see the Banjo trailer where they put dozens of copies of GbtG in the bin?

Oh yeah Rare also made Kameo that was a very good platformer it was just to short but for a launch game you really can't ask to much.

(I hope Rare will make a sequel of Kameo their must be one).

Kameo was in development for about four years. They had enough time to add content.

It had to be in development for longer than that ... It was initially announced before the Gamecube launched.

Seriously?  Don't get me wrong the game was AWESOME.  But it was FAR too short.  I figured it was a quickly thrown together launch game and was pretty impressed.  Now I'm less impressed.
