Forums - Gaming - Movies go gaming and game companies make films!

Alright so the announcement that EAGames is openning film studios and Universal is openning game studios will others follow suit. Its a big deal because movie games tend to suck and movies based on games often suffer the same lack luster appeal. Up until now Sony is the only big game company that makes its own films and cartoons with the exception of Nintendo's Pokemon Company which handles the development of all of the Pokemon products.

Who will be next to make the jump and should game companies be making the jump to film to handle their own movies. I mean what about UbiSoft should they have filmed the Prince Of Persia series of films themselves. Should Sega be making Sonic Movies. Should Nintendo be making Zelda movies and Pikmin cartoons?

What about the current video game movies planned like the Halo movie. Should Microsoft publish the film itself? Does Sony have competition? Should Sega make music CD's and publish the Sonic songs, or Nintendo publish movies?

Is this going to become a trend (Movie companies openning game studios and Vice Versa)?

It's going to be a trend because video games are getting bigger than movies. Also, video games company already have a certain expertise on how to make movies because of the CG cutscenes which are of movie quality.
