I remember hearing a rumor about getting togepi if you beat the elite four 50 times in red and blue. I gave up on my 20th time.
Oh and in gold and silver if you go in kanto and surf as far as you go south, then you use a gameshark to go through the rocks you will end up inside the dark world or something. I didn't believe that one though. There were some other ridiculous ones.
