Forums - Gaming - Iwata: No guarantee Wii will be in stock this Xmas

How can a company have three chances to get demand right and still not be able to. Seems rather incredible. I know you will all say it's not see easy to increase production and they need more factories and this and that and this and that but come on. Sold out 3 xmases in a row. That's a bit too much.

people want what they cant have.    so its popular, but by not supplying enough it appears even more popular, making more people want it.  plus most of the wiis are bought by people wanting to resell at higher prices meaning there is a second artificial reason  for a wii drought.

Until the dollar starts swinging back up there is no reason for them to ship more units to NA compared to Europe and Japan. Since the Wii will sell out everywhere, it makes the most sense to make the most supply available where you will make the most money off of it.

They're already shipping a lot of units to the US -- over 700k/mo average over the last several months.

And so here we have a ready-made excuse for if the wii doesnt achieve the incredible numbers its fans want it to achieve.

'it was in short supply!'

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
