Forums - Gaming - How come there are so many Nintendo fans here?

weezy wasn't serious?! Holy crap I followed his investment advice....

ioi --- there are plenty of ways to code the voting to ensure only one vote per user is allowed. Unless your tables don't hold who actually made the vote. Then that was just bad design.

MGS or God of War were never that great. God of War was pretty sweet, but neither one of them ever got that much praise. Me thinks the Hardcore is speaking for the rest of the gamers out there.

As for this site, yes there are more Wii people that Sony or Microsoft. But the only thing that Wii people do is take for example the game ratings board, we pump Nintendo titles through the roof. Or if Sony people insult our console we reply in mass. Other than one or two oddballs we are pretty nice otherwise.

Beyond that Nintendo people get no special treatment from the mods.

haha, i think that the people that get banned for trolling deserve it, and theyre mostly PS3 nutjobs......but in the same respect i think that the people that nose their way into EVERY sony thread and pour bad news about sales figures every chance they get with the intent to create hostility on a daily basis get a free pass far too often.

I think the mods dont do a good job at all here.....there is a reason this forum is notorious for putting nintendo on a pedistal.....its not just a coincidence or some underground sandbag job the mods lean toward nintendo and moderate accordingly.....its not like its a mystery, ive seen a mod create a thread about xbox sales figures and someone jestfully made a comment about the PS3 or something unrelated to the topic and he was warned immediately for trolling yet those things happen routinely in PS3/Sony threads with mods even laughing or contributing......

This place has great info but the forums are gross, no big deal, it is what it is, just my two cents.

i  call myself "nintendaro 100%"

i got banned from official nintendo forum to be too much nintendian...just to make you understand how much nintendian i am...

(italian nintendo forum now it's multi...it's a shame...an official forum become multi...many nintendian left the forum...i remember on cube era it was plenty of nintendians, now sonians and boxians trolling....how sad for an official nintendo forum...)

i got a ban also here on vgchartz... (still really i don't' know why!!!!)

so in the end it's not true that only sony fans get bans

it is coded so you can't vote more than once. Rol must have a dynamic IP and/or cleared his cookies

and unless you make everybody sign in, there is nothing you can do against that =/

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

Anyone ever visit a place called Garry's mod website? I love the ban feature there. Everyone is issued a set amount of "smartness" points. When you make a good post with out any spelling errors or 1337 language or anything like that, you get one smartness point. You lose more points if your post was riddled with 1337 and mistakes, and every 24 hours the person with the least smart points is autobanned for 24 hours. There are a few insta bans for certain offensive words as well. Of course if you make a mistake and fix it you get the points back. When you do get banned, your name goes up on "The Ban List" and has a reason printed out beside it for the ban.

Personally I would like it if we just borrowed the list idea and forget the rest. I think that Sony fans are feeling annoyed because they don't understand that Kwaad and Blue3 were dicks that have been teetering on the brink of bans for ages now. Just look in their profiles and almost every post contains an insult against the Wii. Biggest problem is that this so called bias gets so much face time in the forums so all of the new forum goers don't give the forum a fair chance.

The voting will obviously reflect the opinions of the people who use the site - of which there seem to be more Nintendo fans than others. If you want to alter the balance, post some links on some Sega and Sony forums and get them to come and vote

I can't control who signs up and uses the site - ideally I'm after an even mixture of people...

Quoted for Chubear. Everybody is welcome here.

Uh? Where did I say others weren't invited? Don't just make up crap to try and make some nonsensical point.

I know I haven't cleared my cookies, but I would have to look into if my IP is dynamic, but I also noticed being able to vote more than once, which I don't really do beyond the first few test ones. It doesn't really matter anyway though as the game got voted down by the next day when I checked. I tried to discretely mention it to ioi through pm though, so as to not potentionally get more people doing it, but if it doesn't work for everyone, then that's good. I would also agree that having people sign in to vote would be good. Perhaps it could be setup for the server to remember who voted on what? Not sure if that would create a troublesome amount of data for the server(s) or not. I try not to vote unless I've played at least halfway through a game. All the way through for ones that are more story based, but despite my being a fan of Nintendo, I have given what I think are fair but good scores on a few Xbox and PS1/2 games I've played.

I also noticed that on Blue Dragon, Rocketpig, and thought it looked a little strange. I'll be in Japan studying this next semester though, so perhaps I'll get a chance to try it myself. I'm interested in seeing that and Trusty Bell.
