Yeah, MS is opening the checkbook too much.

They overdrew their account by 188 million last quarter.

Bad for Microsoft, great for 360 owners and FF fans. More money to Square for FF games, bigger FF fanbase, more people get to play FF. Nothing bad about that at all.

Losing profit not bad?

Crazy, I can't wrap my head around it FFXIII being multiplatform, it's like finding out Abraham Lincoln was really a racist. But he is right though, FFXIII = Playstation. Everyone who owns a PS3 will get this game on it.

FF isn't as popular as you think. Many PS fanboys I know don't even understand what you do in a JRPG. Hell, none of my friends play JRPGs. Only my cousins that I forced to play FFX. On this site though, it sure seems likeRPG gamers are everywhere!

lol,,I know man ,,,I don't lke rpg/jrpg at all(never owned a single RPG game)but here i feel like i m not normal for not liking the genre

You're actually the one who's normal in the real world. I always have to tell my friends "some ps2/ps1" game when they ask me what I'm playing. People are only making a fuss now because they've been few and far between this gen. Thats also why their fans are the loudest when in reality most gamers, at least the ones I know here in the US, are just looking forward to the next FPS. Then on sites like this, you hear complaints of too many FPS games when even the mediocre ones outsell the best RPGs. FF is just popular enough that many non-JRPG fans try them out.

Also, people are just ranting about FFXIII because it is a lost exclusive. Most were not going to buy it. At least nowhere as many as those who want something like Gears 2.

That's because most of the real Playstation fanboys, myself included, found love for the brand from Final Fantasy VII. They could give a piss about Gran Turismo. That's just the way it is, in America, for those of us old enough to have owned a Playstation 1.

That's my opinion, anyway.

A lot of the younger audience got into the console for Grand Theft Auto. These are the ones who could give a crap about Final Fantasy and are just in it for games like Killzone and Resistance. Finally, we have the college social gamer who is a playstation fanboy due to the fact that they got accustomed to the PS2 controls for Madden.

Which ones matter? All of them equally.

However, we're on the interenet. We like to judge. So, if we had to say which ones we respected the most...it would be the old school playstation guys, who bought the console with Resident Evil, played the Twisted Metal demo that came with the console, and had their world rocked by Final Fantasy VII. Those are my guys. I love them. The rest I'm not so sure.

Actually my own love came through FFVIII and my cousin's through FFX. You're right though, the vast majority of my friends only care for sports games, shooters and the next GTA. This is one reason why RE4 became another 3rd person shooter with survival horror perks thrown in. This is also the reason sony "brand name" has not lived up to expectation. Why? Because the x360 has become the console to play madden. EA even gives PS3 owners bad ports...tough love! These are the main stream genres lol.

JRPGs are still as niche as it gets. I was laughing my ass off at people like Soriku who seemed Tales of Symphonia 2 was going to sell buttloads because of the wii's userbase when in reality most never even managed 500K on ps2!

Except it is morally wrong.

I think the person on Gametrailers said it best that this move will allienate a lot of fans.
