Forums - Microsoft - Fanboys and their "predictions".

in that bizz there is only one true rule.... play the platform you like...... and PC gaming is anything but on the verge of dieing..... with MS being in the console market and with their exclu you'll see a lot of games going from PC to XB and from XB to PC... as people don't seem to realize an MS exclu usually means game for windows and xb360....

now PCs all together are on the verge of dieing.... not that we don't need them.... but i firmly believe that in the future you'll need more of a terminal than racing rig... and everything will be cloud/grid computing.... in other words only the tech crasy will care about the power they have...

What yall are surprised. Let me explain the psychology behind it such that it's understandable.

Fanboys who have latched themselves to the welfare of another entity will go at all costs to keep them at the front of respect and glamor. If something affects that entity then they are personally affected as well as they feel apart of it. Like such as before November 2006 the Wii was accepted by all fanboys. 360 and PS3 fanboys continuously wanted to attach it as a secondary console with their top choice. While they bickered on ends about which of theirs was better.

Why did they do this? The Wii wasn't a threat. It was an underpowered console that they knew wouldn't sell worth a flip thus being nice with it is no threat to them. Hell it also gives them more backup if they can try to get the ninty fanboys to side with them by siding with their console thus helping their chances agains the other. Yes this is exactly how fanboys think.

So what happend after the Wii launched and we got to Marth 2007. 360 fanboys woudlnt' dare come out and say I'm Wii60. PS3 fanboys continuously bashed it. What happened? The Wii sold well. Not well but extraordinarily well. It's threat level jumped from a 0 to 12 on a scale of 10. No longer would they attach themselves to something that was actually affecting the sales and wellbeing of their console. Thus they would bash it about it's lack of good games, bash it's top dogs for focusing on all gamers instead of the core gamers(them trying to get the core gamers to their console). They would make these things about gimmicks, destroying the industry, ect. Hell they woudl even take sides with their once enemies fo the opposite console.

This is the nature of fanboys. They are so locked into their own entity they worship that loyalty is anomaly outside that of their one entity. They will change opinions, views, ideals, morals, ect just to keep theirs top dog. Anything that is a threat will continuously be put down.

Wii fanboys have had to put up with this shit since after November 19, 2006. And it's still going on because they are still top dog. E3 2008 is a further testament to those fanboys. Now why is MS having it so much recently? I think a lot of people see MS and the 360 as a lost cause. Meaning they feel fanboys of the 360 should simply say they can't win and stop praising the console. They feel nothing good should come to... well putting it straightforward... a loser. Yet becuase 360 is still doing decent enough and MS is helping it with payoffs the 360 still gets good things. This angers... mainly the Sony fanboys, who are trying to slide past it. They feel threatened and less superior every time 360 gets something good because they feel PS3 should be getting that. I mean it's the only thing that will get 2nd place and ultimately try and take on Wii.

Thus after the FF13 announcement 360 will get a lot of hate. Hate from the Ninty fanboys who are probably simply getting payback and hate from the Sony fanboys who still see it as a threat and jealous of it's treatment as well.

It's always hard to dissect what a fanboy really thinks, but their thoughts about the console ware are purely one track defense mechanisms. They are easily able to point out. Remember most of your fanboys aren't going to be ones that simply try to damage control. These are just your hardcore fans of a certain entity. The fanboys are the ones that take offensive "defensive" measures. The ones who continously come out saying Wii gamers are being drowned in a casual mayhem, or the ones syaing MS continues to sell their soul to the devil by buying out properties, or that Sony continuously steals ideas. Fanboys are definetly a curse upon the gaming discussion world but nonetheless probably the most plentiful.
