Forums - Sony - Jack Tretton says “Home” May Be Two Years Away

God, I hope not.

Sony lost the [beta] key to their home?

Around the Network

I see no problem with a delay. Right now Home is looking like a sterile version of Animal Crossing, and with two years time, it could become a selling point of PS3 rather than a "huh?" bonus feature.

Dis am teh gey...they should call it homesexual...

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Jack's a pretty honest guy for a businessman. I've gotten accustomed to waiting and don't really care much for home.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

As I Watched Jack Tretton at the Sony presentation i was struck by his uncanny similarity to Elmer Fudd...
It's just as well PS3 has a 10 year life cycle. Homesexual dropping halfway through that timeline isn't such a bad thing...Getting Homesexual perfect before release is the best thing they can do for it...

Soon after the Home announcement I was pointing out that Home wasn't that much different from countless other 3D chat applications that had been produced over the years, and (about) the only way I could see it as being something special is if it had an order of magnitude more content than every one of those applications. Now, there are only two ways to get that kind of content, to make the system "open" like Second Life (and wait 5 years for the content to be developed) or to spend an insane ammount of time and money developing that content yourself.

Yet we get mad when Nintendo refrains from showing things that are early in development so ya aren't waiting for years. I'd rather them not do that so that we aren't always having to hear delay after delay.

Home should launch around the same time as GT, all the nutty car nuts could fill it up and make it fun.

Supra > Skyline!!!

Oh and Latestation 3. Just want to fit in haha.

Does Sony not understand that you can release things a little at a time. How about releasing a piece of it to start, then adding content regularly. Maybe like a weekly or monthly home update.
