If that's the case it's probably an issue that your IP does not give you a static IP address...

You can do it the way described in the FAQ I posted by buying a router and doing it on your side and that -should- work. I say should because I cannot give you a 100%. Other than that I think it's up to you provider as to if they give you a static or a random IP when you log on.
If that's directly from the wall... Are you in an apartment or something like that?
It's similar at my apartment where they include an internet connection in each room, but it's terrible for consoles because it's a NAT3.
