Forums - General - Any Stargate fans?

I'm looking forward to SG:U but it hasn't recieved a green light for production yet AFAIK.

Supposedly Michael Shank will be "a" or "the" main character since its supposed to revolve around an ancient ship that was involved in placing the gates. But again nothing known for sure yet. I just hope they don't screw it up by taking the series into the whole star trek style of space wandering, its a solid sci-fi format but its also something completely different for the series. Should be interesting at the very least during the opening episodes as they flesh out the reasoning behind their acquisition of the ship and necessarily explain a bit more about the ancients.

I've always found it extremely stupid that they have the ancient database yet don't seem to know a lot about their technology and culture, particularly that they just can't seem to find the info on how to make a ZPM.

I am a fan of both. I have watched every single episode so far including Ark of Truth and Continuum. The Death of Don S. Davis did come as a bit of a surprise. So far the SGA season has been going well and I'm enjoying it. I can't wait for the games to come out.

I love both shows and have also seen every episode. While I do prefer SG 1, since it has ended I have come to enjoy Stargate Atlantis. The Woolsy takeover is sort of lame though.

They have hinted that they know where the information is, but don't understand it. When the Wraith first set out to seige Atlantis Weir makes a long speech about giving up either the research on ascension or ZPM technology. They have also established a few different times that Human brains are not evolved enough to handle all the information the Ancients collected.  Of course that is a moot point since they should be able to use the Asgard core to build anything they really want.

The fifth season of Atlantis isn't getting me overly excited right now. They have once again "killed" Michael and despite the fact that he now has access to the cloaking technology of the Ancients don't view Michael's faction as a threat. I wonder how that will end. There is currently no villain aside from the Wraith who apparently are no longer a threat to anyone. They have succesfully wrapped up every plot thread from the previous 4 seasons before the third episode has even aired. I guess it is time to meet another super powerful race who hates Humans for no apparent reason.

I did like the second SG-1 movie though. That was an interesting wrap-up for the series.

Stargate is my single most favorite TV series. I have literally watched every single episode of SG1 and Atlantis.

As for Don S. dying, yeah it sad just because he died, not because of the character he played. I don't get all that caught up in the actual people playing the parts. meh.

S5 is moving along nicely. Woolsey will definitely be going through some serious character changes as the season continues. He has to to fit in with the other leaders of past.

Micheal is obviously still a major threat, especially now that he has a jumper. Wraith are just too caught up in their own. But, quickly becoming a non-factor.

Then we cannot forget the 2nd Weir team of human replicators. They are still out there and are probably building up a force in secret as we speak. Granted, they will have to somehow explain where the 2nd Weir went to, but, they are still there.

I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the season. In case any of you don't know of this site, www.gateworld.net, they are the oldest fan site around. They get tons of insider info and are a really good source.

I can't wait to see Continuum. It looks so fantastic. 29th here we come!
