Forums - General - What should I do?

I have a genuine question about two threads wich one is locked and the other is till open even though the latter is way worse then the first and the locked thread has real life value and is in line with what this site is about.

I have sent letter to the mod that locked and he answered me but the answer was no good since the reason he gave me is valid for the thread that still is open and then I turned to another mod but with my question but i just get ignored.

What should I do?

I really want to know the difference between the threads and why one is ok to stay open and the other not.

Any advice besides letting it go?

but what is the point of the rules if they aren´t followed and questions are not answered when the occur?

Then we might aswell delete the rules page and just write the mods online decide what is what and who is banned and what threads get locked.

By ignoring me or others there is no point in the rules.

A good reason why one thread gets locked and another doesn't, is because one is reported to the mods for breaking a rule and the other isn't.

In this case both break the flaming or trolling rule or they don´t so either both should be locked or both should be allowed.

 I am asking for advice on how to get an answer not your opinions, no offence but if i did ask your opinions i would get banned and this thread would get locked wich I am guessing it will anyway because at this point it is an embaresment to this site and so unproffesional it is ridicioulous. Ignoring your users is usualy very ridicioulous.

That could be an explanation but i don´t think it is since i got an answer from the mod that locked the thread but the answer he gave me applies to the open thread too.

I've gone through the same thing yesterday with my thread (the one I link to in the bottom line of my signature). Locked for misleading thread title and something else. I sent a PM to a mod saying (probably) pretty much the same as you wrote in your PM, that there are other threads which are similar and don't get locked. Of course the thread didn't get unlocked and I sent a PM to another mod who didn't response.

Instead of dealing with the mods, I just link to my thread on every occasion so that everyone can read it.

Thats just sad, really sad and that thread is just hilarious. This will only hurt the site in the long run doesn´t anyone with powers here get that?

As this site gain popularity and gets more known this problem (not the one with my thread or Rol´s) will only get bigger and ignoring the users that are questioning it is just going to get worse. The ammount of users that get dissatisfied will just mount up and join forces with the people that hate this site and that is never good for us or our credibility as a site.

I was not implying that my or our threads would cause all that but shit like this mount up and in the end it has to get out somehow and with the hate this site has among other sites it´s not hard to guess where members that feel shuned would turn too.

By the way I vote you as a mod seem to be giving more of a dam about this site then the ones that are and while we are at it I vote you for president too. ;)

Nah, if I would be a mod I would have to follow the forum rules and I don't want that.

If a mod doesn't respond to my PMs, I just tell myself that he's too busy right now, because there are plenty of things to do on this site each day, like updating the game database for instance. Or the mod just has a bad day and can't be bothered to respond to a minor complaint.

Once we have another popularity contest I will eliminate the mods who didn't do their jobs as early as possible. I suggest you do the same.

Well, i will if i am still here, right now i feel kind of discouraged about this. If mods don´t take this kind of thing seriously and really ignore the users with valid questions and issues then I might aswell go back to lurking as my contributions here and visits feel kind of meaningless and probably are more ignored then the issues I tried to understand. I might feel othervise later but right now I am seriously discouraged and feel I take this site more seriously then the ones that should take it seriously.
