Copyright complaints against YouTube

In February 2007, Viacom sent upwards of 100,000 DMCA takedown notices to the video-sharing site YouTube, alleging large-scale copyright infringement. Of the 100,000, approximately 60 - 70 non-infringing videos were erroneously removed under the auspices of copyright infringement.

They're destroying them, But were lucky YouTube has the power to accept or decline the Takedown notices.

So do you like Viacom?

Should they be doing this?

If so why?

Discuss//.

Around the Network

Let me guess (Can't watch the video):

You're complaining that Viacom is ignoring our First Ammendent by not allowing us to show videos of copyrighted works?

Kimi wa ne tashika ni ano toki watashi no soba ni ita

Itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte

Sugu yoko de waratteita

Nakushitemo torimodosu kimi wo

I will never leave you

Wait, I respect they're trying to follow and enforce the laws, But they're going into our whole viewing history of every single users on YouTube and if he has seen any copyrighted video then he can be taken to the court of law & prosecuted, is that really fair?

As the first video said, Viacom take things one step further -- 'imagine you go to a supermarket and as you walk in you get searched, would you go back? What if then they go to your car and searched your car? Then, would you come back?'
