I like the Stories of the JRPG games more and I like the gameplay of the WRPG more so a JRPG with WRPG gameplay or vice versa is always awesome if its a quality game.

I like Pen and paper RPGs, I like to play a role. JRPGs are too much on rail for me, too much to even get defined as RPGs. I prefer when RPGs are like Fallout 1 and 2, Arcanum and Planescape Torment. With that said, I still like a lot of the old Square and Enix games released for the SNES.

I agree, JRPGs aren't true role playing games but I don't mind.  I respect JRPGs for what they do instead of bashing them for what they don't do.

Let see, I hated Oblivion but loved Neverwinter Nights. Loved FF 1, 4, 6, 7 and 9, hated FF 8. Hated the Persona series but liked the Wild Arms series. Haven't played Mass Effect, KOTOR or Fable series. Played WoW, Everquest, CO Heroes/Villians and Diablo Series.

So I don't know what I like. What do I like?

You hated the well-regarded Persona series yet you liked a mediocre series like Wild Arms?

WRPG, but I do love some JRPGs. A few of my favorite games are jrpgs.

I can't really pick a favorite because both have their strengths and weaknesses. I like the stories and characters of JRPGs but I also like the freedom of WRPGs (but not hardcore freedom like Morrowind).

I can't really say I discriminate when it comes to whether it is a W or JRPG, I look at all the other aspects of the game to determine whether I'm interested.

WRPG at least have some roleplaying in them. They may not be like a true pen and paper experience but then again 99% of all JRPG have no choices at all. Not that JRPG's are bad games, I've been increasingly enjoying them. However by their very nature I'll always enjoy western RPG's more. But then again they've largely been going downhill since they moved to consoles.

I prefer jRPGs a lot more, not all of them. There are kinds of jRPGs that I hate. Among wRPGs, there are only distinctive ones that I enjoy. They have to be story-driven, have a 3rd-person/isometric view, have a unique fantasy (not relying on stereotypical fantasy or sci-fi) and a unique gameplay (not the typical real-time hacking and slashing with 1-12 or F1-F12 for hotkeys) and be colorful enough.

So I am guessing you aren't interested in Dragon Age then.  There are quite a few WRPGs that fit the description you listed i.e.Planescape Torment
