WRPGs and it's not even close. Ever since Fallout, I've seen the WRPG genre keep trying new things with interactivity while JRPGs have remained stagnant in that regard. I love being able to do what I want in an RPG game without having a linear storyline shoved down my throat.

JRPGs may be stagnant in that regard but not necessarily in certain other regards, especially gameplay.

I'd agree only if it weren't the annoying fact that all WRPGs seem to need to be real time.

Not at all. I still play JRPGs, I just really prefer WRPGs.

Yeah, a few more Fallout 1/2 style of isometric games wouldn't hurt anybody now and then. Sometimes you just wanna be a slug and not have to really focus on twitch gaming.

I wouldn't mind that too but American developers think Americans wouldn't buy turn based RPGs when they should know that there still is a decent enough market for them

Both

JRPGs

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

JRPGs for me, too. The only WRPG that I enjoyed was Jade Empire... and as you know, it's more of a JRPG than a WRPG. :P

It has dialouge choices, how is it like a JRPG?

I was referring to the battle system, actually. That's what bothers me the most in WRPGs... the battles are soooo boring. But Jade Empire has an engaging and interesting system, that's why I always think of it as a pseudo-JRPG. x)
