You have to complete 75% of all side missions with the Ally. The 5 collection-based side missions aren't needed.

By my count there are around 54 side missions available, so you need to do about 40.

Total side missions:

12 available when you arrive on the Citadel

3 available on your second Citadel visit after you complete one of Therum, Feros or Noveria.

2 available on your Citadel visit after you complete Virmire.

5 on Feros, 2 on Noveria and 2 on Virmire.

24 uncharted side missions.

1 Shepherd background side mission

1 Garrus, 1 Tali and 1 Wrex side mission.

Those ally Achievements were totally buggy for me and I never got any. And I played with Liara and Ashley for my whole 2nd playthrough.

I died twice in that fight against Benezia.

But what I´m really 'hating' is Ninja Gaiden 2...shit, grab attacks by the enemies should be forbidden and some bosses are fucking cheap.

Ya don't use the autosave at all, just keep on manually saving.

That Benenzia fight was horrible.

God fuck that bitch. I pwned her after like ten tries. Just had to take out the asari girls that are flipping annoying.

Also, yes the game has a save feature, but when you're playing the game, you don't want to save every time you walk into a room after a loading screen, or one of the many elevators. Auto-saving games generally save before boss fights, so it's weird that it didn't do it here.
