Forums - Gaming - I think I would prefer FF7 go to the PS3...6 too.

I'm pretty much in Vagabond's camp with this one. Especially seeing as how Square's work focuses a lot on visuals, having new renditions bieng updated to the next system would be logically much more advantagefull on an HD system. Since X360 has FF13 as well, I would hope that it would get it (/as well). Granted I have turned my back against SquareEnix, especially for that attrocious FFXI, but hypothetically if I did have my interested sparked on this one it would probably only be if it were on 360.

As far as Wii goes. The only FF that I think could really benefit from IR interactivity would be FFVIII. The combo meter thing could be well placed with it. Otherwise I would probably find it too bothersome and would tire of it too soon. Honestly do you really want to be swinging a Wiimote for 60 hours, I don't.

FF XIII looks breath taking? All we've seen is CGI.

As for FF VII - OK, I'll agree but that won't be coming for a very long time (if ever). For FF VI, most of the fanbase is on Nintendo systems so that wouldn't make much sense. Besides, they're likely to do that for the DS anyway.

Vegabond was right when he said we had seen brief glimpses of actual battles. We have seen some non CGI clips even if brief.

Anyway, back on topic. I agree with you vegabond. Some things might benefit on Wii, like FPS titles, but I think RPGs like the ones you mentioned, FFVI and VIII can benefit more on a console like the PS3. One of the great things about RPGs is (usually) they'll take you to a fantasy world, and the PS3 is capable of supplying this world with high quality visuals. I'm also hoping for remakes of VIII and IX with better visuals, but I don't think that will happen for a while if ever at all.

Actually all of those looked pre-rendered. I doubt it is that fast paced.

It will goto the DS with out a doubt, it has the largest user base by far.

Sqaure are just building up to it, they did FFIII and now FFIV next will FFV, then FFVI, FFVII. Not to mention they gave the DS the DQ9.
