Yes after 6 (long) years the X-Files is back with a new film out on the 1st August (UK) and 25th July (US).

I Want To Believe will focus on a standalone story line rather than the main mytharc of the show, both mulder and scully are in it (YAY! ) and it will be amazing, i love the X-Files (own all 9 seasons and the 1st film on DVD) and the trailers make this film look amazing, please let me know if your as excited as i am about this film!

Ah. So it was a show about hocus pocus eh? A little before my time I'm afraid. I doubt anyone is looking to see this. Next thing you know we'll be getting the big budget Beverly Hills 90210 movie.

I think you underestimate how popular x-files was at its peak, and with this film looking like it fits in with the earlier style it should do well for itself.

The X-Files is great, seasons 8 and 9 werent as good tbh but the final episode "The Truth" was fantastic, i hope they do another film in 2012 as well.

I just compared it to Beverly Hills 90210, which was one of the most watched shows of the 90's. How did I underestimate it?

Does anyone think this leaves things open for a Who's the Boss theatrical feature?

You are 23, live in the US and have never heard of the X-files.  That is amazing.  There is no way its before your time.  It ran until what 2002 or something?!  They are actually doing a new Beverly Hills show on the CW.  New cast and everything.
