It's all in the mix!
A good console has to offer both.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Um ... "Casual" gaming has existed a lot longer that what we now consider "Hard-Core" ... If someone came up with PacMan, Pong, Space Invaders, Asteroids or pretty much any game made before the Saturn, Playstation or N64 were released it would be discounted as "Casual" gaming by the Snobcore. |
Those games had hardcore followers also. How many people would waste an afternoon to get the highscore in Pac-Man?
NO. We harcore are unfortunately the minority. So, we´re basically screwed. Well, I don´t own a Wii, so I have a lot of harcore gamers to look forward to
Mercs 2 FTW! :D

With how many huge "Hardcore" games that have been released in the past 6 to 9 months, most of the complaints come from whiny gamers who have entitlement issues. |
Are games really like that though? Admittedly I still play Brawl on a weekly basis, but how long does a typical game's active life last? You can point out a very long period of time and then say "Look at all the titles released!" and I could turn around and say "Sure but what has been released in the past 30 days? What new games are you playing on your Wii right now?"
Whatever happened to enjoying gaming for the sake of gaming
When I was young, all we had was a dot on the screen and two rectangles. And we liked it.
Now everybody, quit whining and get back to playing games.

I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |

It's a part of growing up I suppose. When I was younger, I didn't mind grinding in RPGs. I could listen to the radio and play Dragon Warrior III for hours just wandering around and fighting monsters. I'm not the same person today that I was back then. Grinding no longer amuses me. I have so many options for my time that I can pick the one that most amuses me. Is it any wonder that I would prefer something a little more interesting in games?
I was having fun today playing New Super Mario Bros's (DS) minigames with my girlfriend via WiFi... Casual gaming is great.
Some of the oldest games in the world are played pretty casually... Ever heard of card games? Most people play them casually just to have fun. I don't see any problem with video games becoming a part of that phenomenom.

Do most people not play video games in general to have fun?
