Hi there,

Well, I live in Chile (next to Argentina). Here the thing is like this:

PS1 and PS2 are the most popular gaming consoles, mainly beacause off modding. So you can buy games for 4 dollars.

In a country were the average income is 5 times less than EEUU for example, is a little bit difficult to buy 70-80 USD games.

XBOX360 is getting strong because of the same reason.

But the playstation brand is so big, everyone is talking ok the PS3 and want to get one.

The price is $550 dolars average the 40 GB. Games are about USD$ 70-80. You can buy them easily at Shoping centers or specialized stores.

Yeah, I live in Chile too, I got my ps3 in the US in 2007, and I have like 5 other friends with PS3. They sell them at regular stores but they are really expensive, only a few people that are ignorant about the big difference with the US prices buy them here. The problem here in Chile is, even though the country is getting richer, there arent a lot of people who can buy these things. PS2 is really big here because of modding, but me and my friends are from the 10% of the country with biggest economical income, thats the reason we can have these consoles, its not that its too expensive and you just cant buy it, its more like people will use that money in more important things.
