Forums - Gaming - Alone in the Dark - Is it really that bad?

Thanks for the feedback. I may just give it a rent on Disolitude's thoughts. And to think that this was Atari's last attempt, all eggs in the basket.

If you liked resident evil 1 2 and 3 you will feel right at home. those games controlled terrible but were great partly because they were forcing you to survive (the point of survival horror) with any means necessary and not take out an entire army of spanish pesants with a shotgun.

This game is relentless for bad fighting controlls to amount of enemies needed to fight. So you run first and fight later...you cant even pause to the inventory screen as the game doesnt pause when you do that. It all equals pretty intense gameplay mostly due to controls being somewhat poor.

Otherwise, yeah Atari is done looking at thesales of this game...

The original RE games were good, but the controls WERE pretty lame. Not having a pause is interesting, no time to plan out your next move, all reactive. Sounds like a good concept.

I only played the Wii version but yeah, it was terrible.

It was ok, just really repetitive, and a bit glitchy
