Forums - Gaming - I'm leaning to GHIV now

Ok can someone explain the flexibility of the midi ports a bit? Is it just allowing you to use other instruments for the same inputs or does it open up even more options? What makes it so cool?

I think I have the basic idea but I want to be sure I'm not missing something profound.

If I understand correctly it means that you can use GH as a MIDI recording studio. And since a MIDI input is a MIDI input is a MIDI input you can use pretty much anything that does MIDI out to simulate an instrument when you're recording (if it's set up that way).

Theoretically it's very interesting for the budding garage band types. It does go directly against what Naz was railing against (up above) but it also facilitates the creation of new tracks x101,000,000. Then again it's not like 99% of the users are going to do much with this beyond play around with it for a few minutes, if that. If it pans out like it sounds then it's a slick way for Activision to get a bunch of free user generated content.

OK so its pretty much a custom controller, specifically one that people are probably more used to working with if they've been doing this for a while.
