I love the idea of multiplayer retro games on Xbox Live Arcade, but the originality of the PSN titles make this a no brainer to me. Originality > Rehashes/Updates



My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

unless the game is a single player affair with no possibility of online then just about every game that can have 2 players on xbox live has multiplayer..... theres over 100 games on xbox live that have multiplayer..... and even the single player games have online leaderboards, the only game that i can think of that could have multiplayer but doesn't is soul calibur (but 800 ms points for one of the greatest beat em ups of all time is a bargain anyway and theres still leaderboards)

theres no doubt about it..... XBOX LIVE wins

    @ Gebx.

    All of those games will be out in the very near future.

    Eden is right around the corner, socom in october, ratchet this summer, and wipeout sometime inbetween.

    But I will agree that XBL is quantity more than quality.

    So many games, not many good ones. versus Sony's not many games, but most are good purchases.

    Very few of those exist, and the ones that do might not be playing XBLA/PSN games :)

    Thats most of the list. If someone would like to copy and re-post with more pertinent PSN games, feel free to. Issue is there are very few PSN games I can find viable rankings for at the moment. So PSN fans, feel free to post 'em.

    I guess it depends on what you want: PSN has more true exclusives like ecochrome, PJM, SSHD, EDS, and Calling all Cars. However, XBLA has far more high-quality games if your looking into HD ports of hard-to-get games like Rez, Ikaruga, Soul Calibur, and has a few great exclusives like Bomberman, Pacman CE, and N+

    I would argue that the X360 library is quite a bit better due to the depth of the library (140 games, Arcade only), but I haven't played enough PSN games to make a great comparison.

    Yeah XBL also has the old Xbox games like PSN has PS2 games.
