Sony won.
| Godot said: I watched all 3 conferences and there's only one thing I've got to say, Microsoft won this E3 easily. The final announcement was such a megaton hit that there was almost no way Nintendo or Sony could top it. Nintendo presentation wasn't so bad if you forgive them for not showing any hardcore game but it didn't really go into the unexpected and most people (me the first) got disappointed. Sony, unlike what many people think, had a lot of pressure as they had to show something worthy of usurping the Square-Enix announcement. I waited for more than 1 hour 30 and all I've seen is God of War 3 and MAG. I wasn't disappointed again and much more than with Nintendo. That's why I think that after everything has been said and done, Microsoft won this E3 and the FFXIII announcement will remain the only thing for this E3 that people remember. |
if not for that then u would be saying they had the worst E3 of all time

MS, hands down....everyone else is in frantic damage control mode. But 2009 looks to be good for all gamers!!
Here's what I've graded all 3 conferences:
MS: B-
Sony: C+
Ninty: C
What does this mean? No clue. I can't pick a winner. Grading is simply an anomaly but because they are so close I can't choose. All had weaknesses and strenghts. But I will tell ya one thing. I will reveal who I thought won when E3 Roundup: Ninty and Sony edition comes out later tonight.

Yes you're right but my point is that they HAD that! And it crashed this site ;)
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...
My overall impressions were that Sony and MS both had very bland and predictable showings, the only highlight at all between the two of them being FF13 losing PS3 exclusive status (which means less to me than ever before, as FF12 all but killed my interest in the non-remake FFs). Nintendo, on the other hand, did a good job at the surprise factor. The fact that the surprises were not what people wanted is a good thing, because when you get to the point when your conference is as predictable as Sony's and MS's, you've got some problems on your hands.
Now I guess the wait is on to see how long people will complain about "how horrible" E3 was this year for Nintendo, and how MotionPlus is going to be so niche that nobody will buy it (in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, naturally). Just like they did last year with the Wii Fit announcement. Ah, the more things change, the more they say depressingly the same in the online gaming discussion community...
Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

All three press conferences were boring.
I almost felt asleep.
FFXIII was the only exception of course.
So i say MS won.
Tempus fugit Nintendo manet.

I really liked them all alot. I'm a Nintendo fan but I must say that's the conference I was least surprised with.
I'd say MS then Sony then Nintendo, but not with much difference between them.
256 players online? Intense lol.
And actually yeah, we, the consumers, are the guys who won lol.

I mean here's another way I see it. If you go strictly on entertainment MS won. There's was like a show with hardly any slow points. However due to lack of big and numerous announcements and things like that it was hard to say they won.
If you went simply off of huge announcements you'd say Ninty won. I mean Wii MotionPlus, Wii Speak, Wii Sports Resort, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Wii Music described, GTA: Chinatown, ect were all huge announcements. But due to the thing being boring and not even games shown it's hard to say they won. If you went soley off of showing off big core games, Sony won. Resistance 2 and LBP to start. Then GoW 3 and MAG to end. However with a very boring and slow show those areas were the only highlights.
All 3 had huge emphasis on the casual and mainstream section with at least half to 66% of their shows dealing with the those gamers. So really its a hard call anyways once its detailed.
