I think that the FFXIII bombshell gave MS e3, with Sony and Nintendo behind.

The conference started off slow and really never picked up at all. I mean they showed 2 big games in the beginning in LBP and Resistance 2 after the slow start off and then it just goes back to more and more slowness. It was coupled with uninteresting non gaming announcement and little show of games for the PS3 especially. The conference had nothing big or exciting until the last 5 mins when a short 30 second GoW trailer was shown. Then the megaton announcement in MAG.

I mean grading this hard because although the last 10 mins was good its hard to make up for a lackluster conference. Unlike MS there wasn’t a steadiness and flow to the conference that kept you watching the entire time. Unlike Nintendo the slowness wasn’t disrupted by a big announcement or new unveiling. However like both MS and Ninty, there was a huge focus on the casual and mainstream aspects. I think we are starting to notice that this even has become mainstream and they’ll cater to the mainstream.

Overall I grade them a C+ simply for the MAG announcement at the end. If MAG isn’t shown they get a D.

Lackluster E3 from sony..... no footage of god of war so it might not still be out till 2010 at this rate..... so it basically comes down to sony announcing MAG... but microsoft got final fantasy 13 and portal 2.... sonys press confrence gets 4/10 from me and thats been generous
