I love blu-ray movies, and i am surprised at how crappy some dvds look on my 1080p hd television.

Don't worry, the nastier knight gets, the worse he thinks that his side is doing.
Thanks to kenobi after I got him to ban my old account (dallas) after someone hacked into it and being ok with me coming back under a slightly different username. I appreciate our communication in the PMs. Also I want to give a big thank you to vgchartz for being one of the cooler websites around.
Oh, and I'm still the next Michael Pachter
5.6 Blu-ray movies have been sold for every HD-DVD movie sold in Australia! This was just an added tidbit of info but the main point however, was that Blockbuster of Australia and Video Ezy are planning to continue supporting BD only.

Michael Bay's thoughts on the format war (from Michael Bay's forum):
makingmusic476 said: Michael Bay's thoughts on the format war (from Michael Bay's forum): What you don't understand is corporate politics. Microsoft wants both formats to fail so they can be heroes and make the world move to digital downloads. That is the dirty secret no one is talking about. That is why Microsoft is handing out $100 million dollar checks to studios just embrace the HD DVD and not the leading, and superior Blu Ray. They want confusion in the market until they perfect the digital downloads. Time will tell and you will see the truth. Michael Bay, Steven Spielberg, and Ridley Scott have all been very pro-Blu-Ray from the start. It's most likely because, as Directors, they feel that the added capacity and higher bitrates of Blu-Ray will lead to a better representation of their films. |
So it will be really interesting to see if the 3 layer HD-DVD changes this, assuming your guess is correct.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

==> is it not possible to get multiple layer on BR too ?
(just a question)
Time to Work !
Yes it is ,there are currently 100Gb BR discs and they were working in a BR disc with up to 200Gb .
Michael Bay is quite clever ,he saw clearly whats happening and had the guts to tell it .
I wont be donwloading movies by paying .I can download a Divx film to see in my computer here and then ,but if I am spending money in something I want to have it in a phisical form and not only in a hard drive wich data can be corrupted and has a memory limit .I just cant imagine having all my movies in two personality-less external hard drives .

No. There are experimental discs. They aren't ready for mass production yet. This applies to both sides, as there are also experimental ten layer HD-DVDs.
