MGS4 isn't a long game, nor is there any reason for it to be 50GB in size. Besides, I think anyone would take a 10 second disc-change after every chapter over a 2-3 minute install including the 15 minute install at the start.

Thank you mr. developer for telling me this . Again please tell me  how long did you worked on MGS4 ? Dont toss around ideas that you have absolutly no idea about ...

Funny thing that there is no real proof of the saize of the game, the 50Gb thing came after a missquote...

Its not 50GB its about 30GB

Go check the warez release sites for proof.

It was put on a DL Bluray purely as a stunt to make the 360 look bad...pretty pathetic really since it didn't even need it.

Also a 50GB Bluray disc is actually about 46GB ;)

Well, that sums up everything, the game is not a ful 50 Gb disk, the game can be put on 3 DL-DVDs with compressed audio, and most of the Sony fans claiming that it was a full 50 Gb disk were wrong...

It isnt happening, Sony and Konami have a contract that wont allow for it to happen.

Bullshit.  I GUARANTEE you that Konami can do whatever they want with Metal Gear Solid 4.  Why the hell would they agree to such a contract?  If one existed, it would be timed exclusivity as no one in their right mind would ever sign a "MGS 4 cannot be released on Xbox 360 ever" contract.

If MGS 4 comes out for the 360, it will be an improved version like substance was improved.  Maybe they'd fix the areas of weak textures, too.  In that case, real MGS fans would probably want to get the 360 version also to play with the improvements.

Common misconception that MGS4 is 50GB...Its not. Its about 30GB, which includes lots of different languages etc, and if the audio is uncompressed this could easily be taken down to 20GB just by removing the foreign languages and doing seperate releases for each territory (which is quite normal)...

Also, since the 360 only outputs DD5.1 uncompressed audio is completely useless, taking it down further...

IMO MGS4 could easily be done on 2 DVDs...but hey...

Actually, the foriegn languages are already taken out I believe. Yes, it is 30GB. It would still need at least 2 discs though.

sony paid for development costs... please see other expenses in the financial reports. Other expenses is always development costs, assisting other devs, buying out companies, etc.

Believe what you want but M$ would have announced something if what I said is BS.

it was kojima's statement and actually most wares are compressed files.

I agree about the contract being crap, but, what is Konami to gain after releasing MGS4 on the PS3? For the most part, everyone knows the story and has seen more than enough of gameplay, that a 360 version later on in the lifecycle would sell just a poorly as MGS2:Substance. Also, if they never released MGS3 for XBox, that almost guarantees that no 360 version will be made, simply because without playing MGS3, 360 owners would have no clue what the hell is going on story wise.

BREAKING NEWS!!! MGS4 for XB360 will be squeezed to stay in 8 discs and will be bundled with a DWARF 20cm taller than a tower case to automate disc switching. By the way, there will be optional dwarves for FFXIII for XB360 too

Metal Gear Solid 4 was made for the PlayStation audience. It has a number of references to both old and current PlayStation hardware in the game and even a message during an installation sequence which states that the game is only made for PlayStation 3.

They could go and remove these for a 360 version but that's not the point. What they show is that the game was made with the conscious intention of being only available on PS3. This means that if they now released it on 360 at some point they must have changed their mind. But what reason have they for doing that? The game's first day sales exceeded Konami's own expectations and the total sales will easily be on par with the previous games.

So this sounds like a pipe dream.

Not it was not, Kojima said BR is not enough (Talking about the Single Layer BR), later Sony offered the DL-BR disk (And there is a few stories about it), most of the fans thought he was talking about a DL-BR disk, but he never said it, and so far no game used the DL-BR disk, ence ignoring the fact that Sony promoted the 50 GB disk (After the interview with Kojima) like a great feature of the console...

Don´t believe me? Show me a quote where he said it (Its a full 50 GB game) even the Wikipedia article is wrong, and the source down hold information about the game size...

And about the warez compressed files, another point to the compressed audio, textures, etc...

Actually, Konami will be shipping MGS4 for both Wii and 360 owners. The game even comes with a free PS3! It's true. You heard it here first!

=)

Seriously though, it'll be a long while before MGS4 ever makes it to the 360. A loooong while. The MGS4 engine is very PS3 centric -- that'll take a bunch of money to change. Konami may just opt to not do it at all. The number of buyers will be diminished by those who own both systems, and that's been shown to be a higher number than most believe. The profit margins may be really marginal for a rerelease game whose primary audience is mostly satisfied.

The same may be true for Bioshock on the PS3. Looking at the numbers for PS3 Lost Planet, and PS3 Oblivion, its clear that not anywhere near the same % of buyers are interested in re-releases. I would actually say that MGS4 is more fan-centric than either of those games (meaning less general appeal, and the title will be front-loaded with early buyers as opposed to having long legs), and this would further reduce a 360 port's profits, since many of the fans went out and scored a PS3 (many of them probably well in advance), rented the game, played it on a friend's PS3, etc.

I'm not saying it can't happen.  I am saying that there's a lot of evidence that it won't, and that claiming that its "inevitable" is pretty out there, unless its from a *really* trusted source.
