Can I sit on the scale and pick up 1 coin at a time?

Also just picking up the coins will tell you which ones are heavier.

It might, but you need scientific logical proof.  There is a way to do it even if the difference was 2 kilograms to 2.1 Kilograms.  The 2 kilograms vs 1 kilograms thing is just to make it less complicated

Ok.. hm.  I've got no clue how to do a "rich text reply" go figure.  Eh if anyone gives up and wants the answer they can just PM me.

I've got a good math riddle. Either it will take you like, 5 minutes...(like it did me.) Or it could take a day or even longer to figure it out. (like it did everyone else in my highschool math class.)

You have 10 stacks of coins that each have 10 coins in each stack.

Each coin weighs 1 Kilogram. Except for one stack of coins that instead weighs 2Kilograms each.

You have a scale, however you can only use it once.

How do you figure out which stack has the coins that weigh 2 Kilograms?

One truth prevails.

Take 1 coin from the first stack, 2 coins from the 2nd stack, 3 coins from the 3rd stack...etc and put them all on the scale.

If they all weighed 1 kilogram each, the total weight would be 55 kilograms.  The number of kilograms the weight is off corresponds to the stack that is 2 kilograms.

56 = 1st column.
57 = 2nd column.
...etc.

Ah yeah it would be 55 coins.  I had it as 45 coins in my mind for some reason.

But yeah... bingo.

I was the only person to get it right in my freshman geometry class... which was embarrising cause the teacher then made me explain the thing.  Ah memories.

45 is what you get by letting the first column be 0 and doing 1 through 9 for the rest.

If the first column is the 2 kilogram one, then the scale is not off at all. ^_^

My favorite puzzles are the "Lateral Thinking" style of puzzles.  They make you think outside the box and challenge the assumptions that you often make without even realizing it.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I completely agree, the plot is so hard to predict in porn.

Anyway here's one.
Picture yourself in a bright beautiful sunny day, where the temperature is a comfortable warm that doesn't reach the point of being too hot. Few fluffy clouds cover the sky but there was one that stubbornly stopped right under the sun, thus creating a dim atmosphere. It's the kind of day that is perfect for picnics.

You we're driving home from work in your new smart car, surprisingly there was no traffic.
Not a single car in sight.
As you approached the bus station you regularly pass everday, something interesting caught your eye.
3 people were waiting for the bus.

One was a familiar face.
Your bestfriend from your childhood.
The type of friend you trusted with everything and even at one point saved your life.
Unfortunately, he had to move because of his parents job and you haven't seen nor spoke with him for more almost a decade.

The second face made your heart swoon.
It was something that you couldn't explain.
She/He was the love of your life.
She/He was your soulmate

The third face was tragic.
An old lady cringing in pain, crutching her heart.
It was obvious she needed quick medical attention and should be brought to the nearest medical facility

Now your smart car is very small and can only and only carry one passenger.
What do you do?

Can't you just weigh them by hand?
You should be able to tell which stack weighs 10 kilograms and which weighs 20 kilograms.
That way, you don't even have to use the scale. =P
