I'm so much better today.

It's crazy what some sleep can do for the clarity of the mind.

Yesterday was bad, but who knows what's gonna happen today. PS3 is still getting FFXIII, and this game is not gonna decide the console race.

PS3 is still beating the 360 WW each week, and that doesn't look to change too much.

This is just a shitty situation though, and makes me rethink my love for SE.

I never get over your wanting PS3 to win when it's currently the only console you don't own.

I don't quite understand it either.

Well, I'm still buying a PS3 now, so it won't seem so weird soon.

The difference between now and '96 is that SE changed ship because of the N64s crappy cartridges. Square wanted what Ninty couldn't provide, and that was space/storage. Now it's just M$ moneyhatting. But at least the PS3 version is still being made, right?

Urm NO, Square(and Enix with DragonQuest) were considering the N64 and Saturn for their games but were severely moneyhated by Sony, nice new office block Square got out of the deal for switching to PS1 too.

I think that was after... the new Office via Sony and stuff was when they royally screwed up with "The Spirits within" Sony bought some stock to make sure SE didn't go out of buisness and to stablize it enough so that Enix would come back to the table.

it s not the same at all

the game is not dropped on PS3, it will be an exclusive for Japan and also Versus is for PS3 only...

Not so weird, but still kinda weird.  I don't get wanting one console to win over another really.... well unless you can like... only afford one.  Then I kinda get it.

While it's really interesting to watch the sides "compete" and come up with different strategies and spins and argue about what trends may happen...

to actually pick a side just seems to cause a loss of perspective... and through that miss a lot of the subtle changes and hurts predicting ability.

Though I guess it may be more fun in the way of how you like to "root for the home team."

PS3 owners will enjoy exclusive FFvXIII and they have option of importing FFXIII from Japan 18 months early. Seriously this is far from over and once PS3 hit 299$ this fall then its game over for Xbox360.

I still wouldn't bank money on that and sing it to the rooftops. There really isn't any compelling reason i can think of that it won't be announced that it was "switched" to multi-platform development once we get out from the FF13 stuff.  Closer to it's release so they can get some more mileage out of it.

I mean when will it even come out... late 2010... early 2011?

Nomura confirmed that it will stay PS3 exclusive and they are developing another game also.

no not really because unlike nintendo only owners at the time Sony owners can still play the game

Yeah... and Capcom official confirmed that Mega Man 9 was Wii exclusive.... until it was announced 2 days later as multiplatform.

The point being, it's not Nomura's place to decide when to say "It's not exlcusive."

It's not even his place to say "I can't comment."

It's his place to stick with the status quo company line even if that may not be the case until Square decides releasing the news is most beneficial to them.

It's how the system works.  Often times it makes you a liar to your unless your the type to not answer any questions about anything.
