Forums - Gaming - Anybody else now less excited for FFXIII?

I hate this term multiplatform that is being thrown around for FFXIII.

The better term or word to use is Port. Lets say for example Bioshock was never released in Japan yet for the 360. Now lets say the 360 and PS3 version of Bioshock both get released at the same time in Japan coming up.

Bioshock was still initially made all exclusive to the 360, and then ported to the PS3. The port and the original were just released the same time in Japan.

Thats like the same as here, just opposite regions. The PS3 game is released first Japan. Then they decide to do a port to the 360, yet wait to release the PS3 game until the port is done for a simultanious release. (which is the only thing i could see M$ pay for) no they didn't pay for the game, SE just saw an oppertunity for a lot of money out west.

But I don't see how delaying a game for a port to be released same time helps them, yet it helps microsoft. Thus where they would pay them.

yeah i am dissapointed about ff13 all due to the realse date of 2010 in us and europe

oh yeah did anyone notice this trailer was just made up of old trailers and nothing new was shown infact im going on whim to say it was one of those trailers from the closed mega theatres.

also 13 has many major flaws already its looking very similar to 12 with its real time battle system and that sucked along with the story of 12, i have to admint the ps2 games storywriters have gone down hill and im write in thinking the storywriters of 13 are the same so it wont be very good, so it could be as sucky as 12

and now im about to get flamed

I liked FFXII, but I won't flame you about it.

As for the story, the guys who wrote the story of FFX are writing the story for FFXIII, so i'm hopeful.

If there was an exchange of money, it was definitely there.

I would think the Localization of the game would be a lot faster then that of a Port.

the thing about 12 it was decent just not great and 13 would only have a great storyif the old storywriters of the original final fantasys were used they were certainly the best stories lol

As long as they develope FFXIII without having in mind, that they will need to port the game later on x360, i am fine.

Though, maybe on PS3 game will be at 720p, while on x360 in 480p.
We will know, only after several years from now. =)

Overall FFXIII versus is still exclusives, so, it shoudl be clear, if FFXIII was downgraded because of x360 or not, after release of FFXIIIv. =)

Every 5 seconds on earth one child dies from hunger...

I'm still gonna play it but I feel so burned after hearing that. As a Sony Supporter and As a Recent Purchase of a PS3. If I knew this would've happened I would've sticked to my 360 until it RRoD'd on me.

This is retarded. Did you guys not listen/read the square enix booth thing.

They said they are releasing the game in Japan. Then start the language translation and the 360 version. So the 360 version isn't being even started until the ps3 version is released somewhere.

So in no way does this affect the ps3 version. They will find out after the game is already out if the 360 will need to make cuts here or there on hardware specs later. They ain't gonna gimp the already finished ps3 version if the 360 needs to be at all.

Quit trying to start a whine fest over nothing. Are you still getting FFXII. Yes. Is it being delayed a bit cause of 360, this possibly. Who knows, maybe it takes just as long for them to get the language all done as it does to make the engine work on 360. Most likely though it will delay the game because of this. So you can whine about that. But don't once ever whine about quality of the game.

This isn't a "whine fest", it is simply a worry that the game will not be as good since it is MP. I'm basing this on the fact all my favorite games have generally been Exclusives. I fail to see the harm in that.

As far as the question "is it being delayed because of the 360 version", the answer is clearly yes.

I completely agree it will be delayed. But you never know. I'm totally not seeing this till xmas 2010.

But still you ignored my main point. The game is finished on the PS3 before they start to even work on 360 (hence the delay that sucks). So how in the hell would the game being multiplat make it less quality.

Basically this game is like RE4 or Bioshock. Comes out for PS3 and then they decide to make it for the 360. Only shitty part is that the US and Europe release for PS3 game has to wait for the other platform to be done as well. So your PS3 version will be the same. 360 may suffer some things such as RE4 when going to the PS2.

Or else could benefit on things like Bioshock may on PS3, or RE4 did for the Wii. Considering they talked a lot about their engine being made on PC, which is more similar to 360 from what I hear could make it run smoother or better or something who knows. (and don't start makign it seem like I think 360 will be better or anything, just throwing out examples and possibilty. But either way this has nothing to do with the main point.)

PS3 version will not be affected at all, except delay.

I hadn't read this when I posted.  I hope you all are correct that the PS3 version was made to be as good as it could be from the ground up, and only then the 360 version was started.  Then all we have to be pissed about is the delay.  (Buy the Japanese version.)

Its hard to get too excited when we still have NO IDEA when this is coming out.

I beg to differ.  FFXII was great, just not as great as it could have been due to a weaker story and character development.  The battle system and gameplay made up for it though.  The FFX team is making FFXIII so I think the story is in good hands.  The story in XII would have been better if Matsuno didn't fall ill and leave the development team.

Why should I? It's still coming out for the PS3, so yes, I'm still pretty excited.
