Has that actually been confirmed yet? I would ask you to check on the net for me, but I think your eyes can't see much at the moment with the tears that are building up.

Yes, read any of the threads or stories on any gaming site at the moment and you should be able to find it.

Erm. It's a big deal.

But again, it's not coming to PS3 in Japan where it really matters, and it's still multi-plat.

For the love of god, this is the third topic of yours I've posted in about this topic. Somebody is seriously butt hurt over this.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

It is a blow to Sony but honestly one measly game, now matter how high-profile, is not going to tip the scales. By the time XIII actually comes out, PS3 will be closer in install base size in NA, and my guess is that FFXIII will still sell way better on PS3 in both NA and Europe.

You have to commend Microsoft for their attempt to expand into casual games and JRPG's though. However, their main audience is and always will be the hardcore western gamer who likes shooters, and Microsoft's press conference did absolutely nothing for that style of gamer. Their announcements will help, but at the end of the day, they are an FPS console and that's about it.

The PS3 will continue to outsell the 360 despite this news, and IMO it's because of Blu-Ray. If Microsoft really was serious about making a comeback, they would've announced a Blu-Ray-enabled 360.

@shameless, are you serious?
@OP, this thread is full of desperation, Everything will be fine.

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

At this point the 360 is pretty much dead in jp, so I doubt that ff13 would do anything to change that. Unless it was exclusive, of course

Final Fantasy XIII The Square Enix press conference has just began with a Q&A session. Obviously everyone are focusing on the recent Final Fantasy XIII announcent:

- The game is being developed using the Crystal Tools, and there will be new footage very soon.
- Kitase refuses to announce how many discs will FFXIII be released in.
- The game will first be released in Japan, and then the localization process will begin. Then, after everything is complete, the game will be developed for the Xbox 360.
- Hashimito says Final Fantasy XIII might not be released at the same time at North American and Europe due to language issues.
- The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions will not be different.
- Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
- The decision to release Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 was made not too long ago.
- The company still doesn't know if the game will include Xbox Live elements.
- When asked what is the difference between Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XIII, Kitase replied: "Overall, the atmosphere is difference. The tempo and the speed are different. The entire direction is different. It's flashier."

Does development after localization mean timed exclusive? It seems like they are saying they wont even be developing the 360 version until after the PS3 version is released.

Either way its a freaking megaton. Only savior left for the PS3 is FFVII remake.

And FF Versus is still a PS3 exclusive, btw.

Denial. PS3 losing FFXIII in two regions is HUGE.

I personally know 3 people who were waiting to buy a PS3 for this game. Now they won't have to.

Include me in that. So happy that I won't have to buy a PS3 when the only game that appeals to me is FFXIII.

^^ to the guy above me, the game will be developed for 360 in the localization process (usually 9months to a year for FFs), and then released simultaneously on both platforms in both regions.
