but it is a pure blend of the XMB and the wii's avatars. It probably will be the most comprehensive feature set/easiest to use out of all 3 consoles, but it reaks of un-originality.

I was laughing at those avatars, Way to further blur the lines between the competition and your own originality Microsoft.

-its just one more step to making all of the consoles the same machine.

if I understood right, you can keep the old one if you prefer... now even that one looks better that what you have on other consoles... PSim's (oops sorry home) is way more aweful than that, I mean for me, when I use a dasboard I don't want to get lost in virtual world, I'm looking form something and I want to have access to it fast.... if that new update gives me that it'll be even better than the actuall one, which is great but kind of getting hectic with all the content available now....

I am most excited about the dashboard update.

I think it looks a lot less cluttered than the blade system. Avatars are nice and the tv games being incorporated w/ actual prizes is a definitely good thing.

Still like Wii's channels the best though. Much cleaner and simpler.

Cant wait. It's easily the best OS out of the 3 and has by far the best features now. I love it. Man I'm still buzzing from the conference.

If you can keep the old one then thats pretty good.  But Home is an application added to system, if you don't want it then you don't need to get it.  Home in no way is part of the XMB.
